jumpervali 2 #3 November 27, 2001 You can get the flaps changed over to tucks. I don't know their cost but I've seen it done.jumpervali
alan 1 #4 November 27, 2001 Contact the manufacturer, they will be happy to answer any questions you have and provide you with an owner's manual. They are the most realiable source of information for any rig.alan
weid14 0 #5 November 27, 2001 that is probably an "M zero" as in size of container, fitting a certain size main and reserve. Give them a call, Bill will tell you everything you need to know.
Geoff 0 #6 November 28, 2001 M0 means it's sized for a 126 reserve and a 135 ZP main.
Merrick 0 #7 November 28, 2001 Quote"You can get the flaps changed over to tucks."Well, Pam has a rig like this, it's the M0 (I think), and she absolutely loves it. We contacted Mirage, talked to Bill hallet, about getting the velcro replaced with tucks & he said that they would NOT do that. A good rigging loft might be able to, but he seemed pretty adement about not doing it (fyi: This happened before our little 'spat' with them, so his decision couldn't have been made for personal reasons). I've packed her's and a G3 & other than the riser covers there's not a whole lot of difference, but if you keep up with the maintenence of the velcro it won't cause you any problems, no matter what position you fly in."Pammi's Hemp/Skydiving Jewelry"
Unisyn 0 #8 November 28, 2001 Dear Rmcvey,The container that you have is a G1 (Generation 1). This container design is slightly wider but thinner than the G3 containers that Mirage Systems is currently building. You rigger can use the current manual for direction for packing the reserve. If you want you can send you container into Mirage Systems for a inspection. We can repair or replace anything that is necessary. Contact Connie in customer service at service@miragesys.com As for the Velcro Riser cover unfortunately there is nothing we can do. The cost for such a repair and the amount damage we would do to the container rebuilding it makes it not feasible. You have a good rig. My first Mirage was a G1 and it was probably my favorite with the exception of my current rig. It was VERY comfortable. Have your rigger change the Velcro regularly or send it to Mirage. If you have any questions please do not hesitate contact Mirage Systems.
riggerrob 643 #9 November 28, 2001 Installing tuck tabs on older rigs is way more hassle than it is worth. Tuck tab design is a complex process, that very few people understand. Even highly experienced designers like Sandy Reid (designer of the Voodoo, Talon, Flexon, Genera, Telesis rigs from Rigging Innovations) still do it by trial and error. For example, Sandy had the basic design of the Genera figured out by the fifth or sixth prototype, then we built another 35 to work out all the bugs with the main side flaps and riser cover tuck tabs. Most manufacturers take two or three years to de-bug a pattern set. Why do you think it took Relative Workshop so long to perfect the Vector 3?Velcro is not inherently dangerous, it just has to be replaced every 100 or 200 jumps. rmcvey 0 #10 November 28, 2001 Thanks everyone...I didnt intend for the post to be critical of velcro riser covers, i only brought that up in hope someone would have info about the rig.(i actually dont mind what so ever, they havent come open yet, touch wood)thanks for the input guys, and i ll be emailing mirage soon,i actually have a 150 zp main (spectre) and it goes in quite easy! (but you were right about the reserve [126])thanks again.BSBDRob
Merrick 0 #11 November 28, 2001 Speaking of the older Mirage (M1)... does anyone know the pack volume for reserve tray? For instance, if I have a sabre 135 main, what's the largest reserve I can fit into the container without it busting at the seams?"Pammi's Hemp/Skydiving Jewelry"
