ojf1982 0 #1 November 20, 2001 How would I go about demoing gear? Do I contact the manufacturer? How much would it cost?Skydiving is not a sport, it is a way of life!Omar B-24801
Zennie 0 #2 November 20, 2001 Yep, just contact the manufacturer and tell them you'd like to do a demo. They'll send you a questionnaire to get a feel for your experience level and the gear you're flying. They will also want your credit card number for obvious reasons.Every canopy I've asked to demo has a waiting list so don't be surprised if it's weeks or even months before they get back to you. They will ship you the canopy and you normally have two weeks to demo it, and then ship it back. The only cost is the cost of shipping and any late fees if you fail to get it back within the required time frame."Wear the grudge like a crown. PhreeZone 20 #3 November 20, 2001 I'd contact either your local gear store or the manufactr. I've demoed some gear and based on the Demo I bought the product. It cost me $40 for a 2 week demo period on an Atair Cobalt. PD has similar prices and so does every other canopy company that I've known people to deal with. It did take having a credit card to secure the demo from Atair, but thats a small price to pay for a demo. Containers are a different story. I'd contact the manufactr, they might have the size you are looking for as a demo rig, but be prepared for something just a little off. Such as getting a C-17 instead of a c-16 or c-16.5 from Sunpath. In terms of other stuff like Alti's and jumpsuits, make a trip to a Large DZ near you that has a good sized gear store and look around.I'm not sure what to put here right now.....
