ramon 0 #1 November 12, 2001 Do everyone a favor and go straight to your gear dealer with a Javelin problem (hopefully you won't have one) and do not relent. I suspect that they are so busy that they are not inspecting new containers well before shipping. The past three new Javelins (two Odysseys) I have seen, have come from the shop with problems.1. incorrect sewn leg strap.2. RS sized D bag on an NJ container (the main flaps are too short and appear to be for an RS so it looks crappy, b15 harness in stead of C-16, and the riser covers that extend down the size of the reserve container are open when the rig is closed and you can see the toggles. it was ordered in May and arrived 2 days ago). It looks and fits the owner like crap.3. Same color and order for different person...wrong size harness, but not as bad, but the riser covers extending down this one after the rigs is packe really expose the risers and toggles....looks like shit .Glad I bought a vector even though the Odyssey was very comfortalbe when I demoed one. This sport is too expensive to treat customers like that.ramon

ojf1982 0 #3 November 12, 2001 I recently received my Odyssey and i have no complaints from it. In fact its too perfect. I even get scared in freefall cuz its so comfortable that it doesnt feel like im wearing one. Mine took 10 weeks to come in so i dont know why yours took so long. Im sure there are bad experiences with every maunfacturer of some sort, but I have heard very little complaints from Javelin owners.Skydiving is not a sport, it is a way of life!Omar B-24801
SkymonkeyONE 4 #4 November 12, 2001 My Odyssey RS took seven weeks, was perfect, and the fit was the reason I switched back from Vectors after 10 years. I think the two guys on your DZ got a bad deal and their rigs will certainly need to be replaced or repaired, but their story is certainly not any different from any of the others I have heard about every single other rig manufacturer at one time or another in the past year. ramon 0 #5 November 12, 2001 I think this is a very recent thing.Maybe a change in staff or something
SkymonkeyONE 4 #6 November 12, 2001 Not that I have heard of. Derick and all of the boys were just here at Raeford doing TSO 23-D testing on the Odyssey a few weeks ago. None of them mentioned anything. Still, it's a shame that your boys got a bad deal. I am sure it will get rectified.ChuckMy webpage HERE
Trent 0 #7 November 12, 2001 I had some problems with my Odyssey as well. The shoulder tuck flaps just did not fit into the slots properly. While it was jumpable, the shoulder flaps would occasionally come open. Upon the advice of a few riggers and several Javelin sponsored jumpers... I called them up and told them what was going on. I had a demo that fit, and had a nice new Sabre2 in it, as soon as they had one available. I've been on the phone and e-mailed them several times and they've been great. I should have a completely fixed rig within 2 weeks.Granted, having the problem sucks, but the fact that they recognized my dissatisfaction and made up for it says a lot about them. They'll fix anything that they make wrong, no questions asked. That's a lot more than many other manufacturers can say.I'm still happy with SunPath.Trent
