TheMarshMan1 0 #1 November 11, 2001 Hi everyone... I was just wondering if anyone has any comments on the SkytronicFX from Parasport Italia. I've read the comments in the gear section, but I just thought I'd see if anyone here had anything to add. Also, if anyone here that uses one jumps with a Z1- how well does it fit? Any help or comments would be greatly appreciated....Thanks!!!-Marshall"Up high I feel like I'm alive for the very first time...up high I feel like I am strong enough, to take these dreams, and make them mine." -Creed
Jimbo 0 #2 November 11, 2001 I've heard absolutely terrible things about Parasport Italia's customer service. On the other hand, I've heard nothing but praise about the customer service of Larsen & Brusgaard (The friendly folks who sell the Protrack and Prodytter). Personally, I wouldn't invest in product from a company with a reputation like Parasport Italia. That said, I do own a Protrack and I'm very happy with it.-Jim
TheMarshMan1 0 #3 November 11, 2001 Yeah, I've heard similar things about them...although I do have a Z1, and havent had any problems yet....maybe I will just spend the extra cash and go for the Pro-Track, everyone seems to love those.....my one concern is how well it will fit inside my helmet, but I guess I shouldnt base my decision on just that....thanks for the input!! ojf1982 0 #4 November 11, 2001 I also have a Z1 and the pro track fits perfectly in there. I have only bad things about the skytronic, and only good about L&B's pro-track and pro dytter. I have both and both are excellent audible altimeters.Skydiving is not a sport, it is a way of life!Omar B-24801

RemiAndKaren 0 #6 November 12, 2001 If yopu have a regular Z-1, shouldnt be a problem at all to fit any audible in the inside pocket (old dytter, pro dytter, pro track, FX, time out, evolution.. get the drift?) BUT if you bought one of those Z1s with the custom made FX "cavity" with external access to the controls, only a FX will fit in that hole (there still should be another internal pocket on the other side of the helmet for another kind of audible).RemiMuff
Kirils 1 #7 November 12, 2001 I have a Skytronic FX. It's a nice piece of equipment with the loudest alert. BUT service from the company is non-existant.The display on mine became distorted after 2 months of use .I made 4 inquires to the company about correcting the problem with NO response. You talka abouta bada service...theya really fucka you...Larsen & Brusgaard has outstanding service and offer prompt responses to inquires. SkydiveMonkey 0 #8 November 12, 2001 The service at L&B is fantastic - just try sending them an email and you'll get a reply within 20 minutes. A friend of mine lost his pro-track due to risers, and L&B replaced it free of charge. Can't say better than that !! RemiAndKaren 0 #9 November 12, 2001 I'll just add my voice to the L&B adulation: sent our Pro Dytters (4 years old) due to some cracking of the case, got 2 new ones! Way beyond expectations....RemiMuff
Merrick 0 #10 November 13, 2001 The pro-track & pro-dytter both will fit perfectly in the pocket of the Z1.... My only recommendation is that you sew a small piece of velcro or something over the opening of the pocket... Pam dropped her Z1 in the airplane this weekend & her pro-dytter must have fell out cuz it wasn't in her helmet at pull time. Plus I've had mine fall out before as well... it just needs something to secure it! Para-sport Italia also makes a Z1 w/some sort of flush mount for the dytter/track.... Zennie has one, if I had it to do over again, I'd get that one instead. It fits into a hole in the outside of the helmet & is covered by a metal plate that makes the unit flush with the outside of the helmet.... plus there are holes in the metal plate that allow access to the buttons & pro-track screen w/out taking it out of the helmet, so it will never fall out unless you undo the locking screws! (sorry, best way I could think to describe it)."Pammi's Hemp/Skydiving Jewelry"
