OmriMon 0 #1 November 1, 2001 i'm in the process of buying a new freefly suit or pants, i'm trying to decide what to get, the thing is that i'm afraid that a full suit will slow down my fall rate more than just a pants willso my question is if a full suit will slow me down more than just the pants even if they r both made of the same fabric and both have the same figure?Free Skies,Omri A-38593
freeflir29 0 #2 November 1, 2001 Any fabric hanging out will affect your fall rate. I'm guessing you tend to fall slow? Tell the manufacturer what you need and they will customize it to your specific specs. Just be aware that your verticle speed isn't terribly important when you first start. Worry about stability first then control of fall rate. They are going to install a retractable drogue in an attempt to slow my reentry phase. Just jump with other bricks.. Or enter speed skydiving competitions.. As for the original question from Omri.....I say get the full suit.. The manufacturer will build the suit based on your size and fall rate.. Mike

Tony Suit can do this for you, I'm sure others can as well. You'll really get the best of both worlds that way.-Jim
skybytch 273 #5 November 2, 2001 I'd suggest a suit for learning, then once you've got the body positions down go with pants - remember that different t-shirts are gonna create different amounts of drag; you want to keep things as much the same as the last dive as possible while you're still learning (or at least that's what I was told, cuz I'm still learning freefly too). The pants and freefly top is not a bad idea either - and reasonably cheap to add a camera top later when you get into that. Not that I don't like Tony Suits (my Pit Special RW suit lasted for almost 800 jumps and I don't land well pull and flare, lisa
