jfields 0 #1 September 6, 2001 Hi.Eventually, I'll be getting an audible altimeter. I've heard a lot of good things about ProTracks. That is probably what I'll buy.My questions are actually about the JumpTrack software you can buy and use in conjunction with the ProTrack. Does anyone out there use the interface unit and software? If so, how well does it work? Can you get graphs of descent rate vs. time, or altitude vs. time and things like that? I'm wondering if the interface and software work well and whether they are worth the additional cost over the ProTrack itself. Granted, I'm a geek and like those types of things, but I'd like to know other people's opinions. Thanks!JustinMy Homepage
SkydiveMonkey 0 #2 September 7, 2001 One of my friends has got a protrack and the s/w and he loves it. I think you can have several graphs on screen at once, and sync video etc. to it. I can't wait until I can afford it myself !! It works by a small LED onthe back of the protrack interfacing with a small box (like the helmet clip) which connects to a com port on the PC. Don't pull low - unless you are !! http:// www.skydiveupsc.com
wildblue 7 #3 September 7, 2001 I have it, what do you want to know?If you're a geek, I'd say go ahead and get it, you'll have fun with it. You can look at time/alti/speed graphs, add comments/gear/cost/etc for all your jumps in the electronic log book, attach pictures and videos to your jumps, and all other sorts of cool stuff.Go to http://www.l-and-b.dk/ I think you can download an evaluation version of the software. Then, I saw these two guys swoopin across the pond, and I was like 'weeeeeee!!!!' jfields 0 #4 September 7, 2001 I took a look at the website, and it looks pretty cool. It will probably be awhile before I get it, because I'll buy a bunch of things at one time:Full-face helmetPro-TrackJump-TrackRight now, none of them do me any good individually except the helmet. So I'm saving my cash for an expensive call to Para-Gear. Thanks for the info.JustinMy Homepage
mountainman 0 #5 September 7, 2001 QuoteSo I'm saving my cash for an expensive call to Para-Gear. Hey man, if you want to make a not-as-expensive call to Paraquip, you could probably save some $$$. Laura and I just ordered our ProTracks for $240 each and then the Jumptrack software/link for $110. Then you can get helmets for great prices too. The owner (Steve Alexander) is a great guy and I highly recommend him. The Protracks wont be in till Oct 8ish, but you said you have awhile. If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail me or PM me. Good luck bro!!! --------------Boogie pics coming!!!
