Some people were telling me that they are going to have a new one come out (sort of like Sabre2). My gear guy hasn't heard about this and he is the biggest demo center in the world.If anyone knows more about this, please let me know!! Thanks....--------------New design.....AGAIN!!! Kris 0 #3 August 28, 2001 It is going to be called the Safire Gen II. From what I've heard, one of the things they are fixing is the trim on the canopy in regards to complaints that the sweet spot for the flare is too deep in the control range. ramon 0 #4 August 28, 2001 I think the new design is called a crossfire........BWAHAHAHA.sorry, I hate Safires...although I have heard from a friend that called Icarus about how bad his Safire sucked ass (he has a crossfire now), i think they told him they were making an adjustment of some sort.If you don't know Icarus, they make a change and keep on selling. probably did make the change already and there will be old Safires and new Safires. they did that with the FX.bloo ones ramon Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

That is when I asked him about it.I guess before I order one (if I do), I'll ask Icarus about it right there when they're at their booth. skybytch 273 #6 August 29, 2001 Not to be brand-centric, but.... have you jumped a Sabre2? Personally if I was wanting a nine cell, I wouldn't buy anything until after I'd jumped that. I've talked to lots of people who've jumped it, and most of them have also ordered one.As for the Safire, you could always ask for the mods when you order, I'm not sure what they will say... From my experience, Icarus is excellent at customer service so the chances are probably pretty good.pull and flare,lisa---I chose the road less traveled. Now where the hell am I? weid14 0 #8 August 29, 2001 Well, I really don't agree with the subject line, but FWIW I had mods done on my Crossfire (totaly re-lined) to get it "tweaked" and they turned it around in a week (including delivery) and didnt charge. IMO their customer service is very good. plus you've got teh 30 day money back offer from them. I also jump a Safire, it doesn't land nearly anywhere close to as nice as the Crossfire, but it's still an OK canopy. If people are used to a PD product, the flare will be different (deeper), not that it's a bad thing, it's just different (for some that's OK, for others, not so) Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
