riggerrob 643 #2 July 10, 2001 That looks like Jim Slayton playing with a tiny Icarus Extremely Extreme kite. It looks too small for today's jumpers.
skymedic 0 #3 July 10, 2001 I thought at first it was a kite but then saw risers and toggles attached and heard rumors of icarus going sub 40...Marc
PhreeZone 20 #4 July 10, 2001 Looks like that one is sub 20! Whoa... That was cool!
DiverDave 0 #5 July 11, 2001 Jim Slaton runs the Perris Evolution canopy school, which includes a significant aerodynamics lesson as part of ground school from what he's told me. My guess would be that this is a ram air kite to be used as a teaching aid... but that's just a guess.Cheers... Dave
PalmettoTiger 1 #6 July 11, 2001 If anyone tried to jump that thing, it wouldn't take very long to pack. Or deploy. But I have my doubts about how much it would slow you down. Blues, squares,PTiger"Beer: the OTHER other white meat."
DZBone 0 #7 July 11, 2001 Dave's right. He used this as a visual aid when I asked him about holding toggles and front riser loops. You guys kill me. You don't really think anyone could fly something that small, do you??At least not yet...heheCarl
skymedic 0 #8 July 11, 2001 no I don't think anyone would fly it, but then again no one ever thought they could go sub 50 and they did. its only a matter of time.Marc
Shark 0 #9 July 11, 2001 QuoteYou guys kill me. You don't really think anyone could fly something that small, do you??Since it's used as a teaching aid, isn't approved for student use?? Then they upsize; bigger is better. Or maybe it's the *kids* model for those 12 and under...
