Put a 24" Monkeyfist on A J-5 w/ safire 219, the non collapsable PC that came with the container was 27"
I notice a veRy short hesitiation than what I was expecting when I throw out, could be me, I've never used a monkeyfist OR a kill-line collapsable up until this point (bungee and reg only)
My closing loop is pretty tight, but not overly tight I believe, when I stretch it out it reaches about a half inch or so past the stiching for the velcro square on the back of the top flap, which I was advised that this is where Sunpath recommended it to be for a canopy that is approporaite for the size of the container.
Anyone notice similar before?
It doesnt seem to be hanging up or anything, just a split second later than the norm I was used to.
Anyone have suggestions / observations/ advice?

Yeah, I member reading on it that it was made in Raeford - good deal.
Its hooked up with the killline and smaller "bridle" peice going through the bags grommet to the top of the canopy, with one quick link there, and the two pieces where the kill line comes out of the bridle are folded opppsite of each other, to allow the kill line to be exactly in the center, with the second quick link there to keep it in the center, around it and through both pieces of the bridle where it splits.
The only other thing I've noticed about monkeyfists is that they like to cock back farther than the original marking, so it looks white but its cocked past the mark - I jusat marked a new spot with a black magic marker, and yes I'm sure its past the original mark and not forward.

One possibility - the p/c may be too small for that size main canopy. We sell aftermarket kill line p/c's in zp 24" and zp 28". The manufacturer recommends that the 28" be used on canopies 170 and larger, the 24" for canopies smaller than that.

Pyke,
What p/c manufacturer are you talking about in
particular? I e-mailed SkyKat Gear shop and their p/c
made by Cazer Paraloft require sewing.
I'm looking for one right now and want to find out which
ones are not sewn in.

None of them should be a sew attachment. Your canopy should have a bridle-attachment point that will allow the pilot-chute to be connected to the canopy via a rapide link.
The only sew option on the PC should be the handle (hackey / monkey fist, plastic barrel) itself if you wanted to change it.

That is not correct. Cazer pilot chutes require no sewing whatsoever. Now if you were buying a separate monkeyfist handle and going to attach it to an "other than monkeyfist" PC, then yes, you would have to do some sewing. MonkeyFist PC's are complete units and require no sewing.
