I have a question about my DZ location: Why did you determined Russia as Asia region? even accordinately to your map the most DZ in Russia should be in Europe Thank you and please understand me right - I am don't want say nothing bad about Asia, but we always thought (at least my teacher of geografy told us in school) that we are live (and now we jump) in Europe. AggieDave 6 #2 July 21, 2004 This is a long standing debate between western European countries, the US and Russia (even well before 1917). Russia has considered its self apart of Europe for a very long time, however, western Europe has considered it apart of Asia for just that long. It has actually led to some stressful moments during negotiations and such. There is some interesting historical tidbits about some of the later tsars and the Soviets right after the revolution and civil war in their dealings with western Europe and some of the misconceptions just with geographical naming of either in Europe or not...however, that's for another thread sometime.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." NWPoul 1 #3 July 22, 2004 The part of Russia from the western border to the Ural mountain situated in Europe other part - in Asia but the most of DZ's situated in a European part of Russia, more over, if we take a look at regions map on this site (when we seek DZ location), we'll see that DZ's at Moscow, St. Petersurg should be concider as Europe region. sangiro 26 #4 July 22, 2004 Yup - you have it right. The Urals are considered to be the border devide between Asia and Europe. Different global organizations seem to place Russia in either Asia od Europe. The UN seem to position it in Europe... which is a strong argument for including it there. And, as far as the most DZ of Russia are situated in Europian part of Russia too - it is reasonable to make Russia as Europe region on this site.Why drink and drive, if you can smoke and fly?
