What's the little checkmark?

I've recently noticed a tiny little gray checkmark (example attached) on some forum threads, yet I don't see any legend explaining what that means.

Hey! Now cut that out! I talk about lots of other things too...

I like this idea, and I thank you for it.

It's similar to my suggestion of a few months ago asking for some way to flag threads I wanted to watch. This will make it much easier for me to remember which threads I'm participating in, so I don't skip over some of the obscure thread titles.

I recommend a temporary sticky message by way of introducing this new feature.

Sometimes I want to lurk a thread, without actually participating, and this gizmo falls short there. Now if I could just force a checkmark myself, selectively by thread...

This morning upon entering my office, started computer running, had a look on DZ.com (like usual ) and discovered the little grey checkmark, found it usefull and funny... OK

This evening, coming back home, started computer running and had another little look from my private computer on DZ.com: no more any checkmark? Where are they gone??
