Email function. Something is wrong?

I just checked my email and it says

"Welcome Fred! You have a total of 2 unread messages"

When I click on inbox, I don't see any new messages.

Where do I find these new messages? What location?

I think this same situation has occurred before.

If you've deleted messages that were spam, they go straight to your delete box unread. Look at the upper left hand -- each of your mailboxes should have the message count. Whichever mailbox has a slash and a number in bold will be the one with the unread messages.
You have to clean out your trash bin manually - it doesn't happen automagically here.
