Antithesis 0 #1 March 31, 2004 I hope that this isn't a repost. I'm getting email messages directed to other people with dz.com mail accounts in my dz.com mail folder. From: Clyde Villegas To: andrq@dropzone.com Date: Subject: We can protect your online privacy! maneuver Yesterday I got one for vanillaskygirl I have set up the advanced spam filter as suggested for emails including "spam" in the title. Is there something that I can do? I'm about to head out to sea soon and don't want my dz mail to fill up with junk. freeflygoddess 0 #2 March 31, 2004 my too I get spam for freeflyfreak and others with simular first names. I never open anything that I don't know where it came from no matter what the subject has in it...that is how you get viruses. Unless I know it is safe, but most of the time I just delete them, but I am curious as to why I am getting other people's spam.
Nightingale 0 #3 March 31, 2004 there is a virus going around that will pull names from address books of infected computers. it puts one name as the sender and another as the recipient, and sometimes BCCs a bunch of other folks (this is probably why you're getting other people's spam). vonSanta 0 #6 April 1, 2004 Using MS Outlook, right? It's evil. The majority of decent mail programs don't allow VB scripting like Outlook does. That program s really the cause of most of these "from friends" email viruses. Get loads of 'em on my email addy, but none are sent from it.
