skymama 37 #1 October 27, 2003 The SPAM filter that I set up in advanced options has been working for months and months to send spam to my trash bin. Now, everything has been showing up in my Inbox for the last 2 days. I even changed the filter per the new announcement to look like this: If Subject contains *****SPAM***** Delete it No It's still showing up in the Inbox. One thing I've noticed is that the asterick marks around the word "spam" are no longer on the spam like they used to be on the messages. Is this a glitch or do we need to take them off the filter for it to work? She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
Gawain 0 #2 October 29, 2003 I am experiencing the same thing. It appears to me that spam assassin is not tagging the subject fields as ****SPAM****. I had my filter set up with a basic wild card: *spam* (not case sensitive) and move to "trash".So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! sangiro 26 #3 October 29, 2003 Folks, I spoke with the clever people who helped me with this. If you set up the rule the way I have it, then the emails marked by the spam filter will be deleted before they even get to your mail box! The ones that you are still seeing are those that made it through the filter. If you don't want to delete them then set up your filter as shown below. Create a folder called "Junk" (or any other creative name you come up with!) If Subject contains *****SPAM***** then: Move to Folder: Junk This one will send all messages marked as *****SPAM***** to the "Junk" folder where you can delete them later. Make sure you only have one of these filters running. The choice is yours delete them before they ever get to you or sort them to a folder of your choice. skymama 37 #5 December 20, 2003 More Spam has been trinkling in lately. This morning I was surprised to find 14 new ones in my Inbox. My Advanced Filter is still set up as: If Subject contains *****SPAM***** Delete it No Do I need to do something else? She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
sangiro 26 #6 December 20, 2003 Yup - same is happening to me. That's because the senders are getting smarter about how and what the send. I can make the filter a little more sensitive.... I'll try it and check to make sure it doesn't catch too much legitimate emails.Safe swoops Sangiro
