peek 21 #1 March 9, 2010 There are drop zones listed that have not been in operation for years, (literally). The people that used to run them have no incentive to remove the old listings, so they will stay there and confuse people forever. I just saw another post referring to a dropzone that is gone. Anyone in management have any idea how to solve this problem?
BillyVance 35 #2 March 10, 2010 I'm sure that whoever's in charge of DZ listings can just delete the listings of DZs that don't exist anymore, once that's verified..."Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban
peek 21 #3 March 10, 2010 QuoteI'm sure that whoever's in charge of DZ listings can just delete the listings of DZs that don't exist anymore, once that's verified... Sometimes that is not easy to determine. Sometimes the DZ web sites still exist. I can understand them being hesitant to delete a listing if they have not communicated with the person that created the listing.
riggerpaul 1 #4 March 10, 2010 Maybe there should be a time out that triggers removal if nobody otherwise prevents it. As a courtesy, dropzone.com might send an email to the official contact once a year. Nobody answers? Drop the listing. It could probably all be automatic. PhreeZone 20 #5 March 10, 2010 If you can provide links to ones that need cleaned up we can try to get to them. I looked a few years ago and had a list of about a dozen or so that needed cleaned up including a DZ that had not been at that location for 6 years but was keeping the listing active anyways since they linked it to their operation at another city.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
Bolas 5 #6 March 10, 2010 Many keep their website active just so Skyride doesn't buy the name. Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.
