SimonBones 1 #1 July 30, 2007 Many skydivers are also travelers. Some travel close, some far. Not all DZs have camping or bunkhouses and some have these only on weekends. Trying to post something on a forum like "Is anyone from (wherever)" rarely turns up results unless it's from a bigger DZ. Websites like Couchsurfing.com really allow people to network couches wherever they're traveling for some free accommodation. I think DZ.com should have a link to this, integrate to it, or even copy what it does. When I travel, I'm usually trying to hit up a local DZ and I'd rather stay with a local skydiver than a local whuffo. -Simon108 way head down world record!!! http://www.simonbones.com Hit me up on Facebook
BIGUN 1,483 #2 July 31, 2007 Shit, there's only four skydivers and two SF guys I'd trust in my house. (j/k) I think it's a good idea. I travel an inordinate amount during the week and stay in hotels from Washington State to Florida. It'd be nice if I could know which DZ's would charge me nothing, ten, twenty, thirty, etc. for a night's accomodation during the week. Even if there's only a few skydivers around or even none, Let me use the DZ lounge to watch tube or if they have a WAP so I could get some work done in the evenings...Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
