peek 21 #1 May 12, 2006 How to save a lot of disk space... I assume every ridiculous post that everyone makes is saved, and I can't imagine saving many of them. If it were my computer I would just tell everyone, "Anything in Bonfire will be deleted in a month.". "If you want to say something for all eternity, then make it topical and use another forum." I just can't believe how many posts there are in Bonfire and how useless some of them are....
IanHarrop 42 #2 May 12, 2006 One of the ways that websites like dz.com demonstrate that they get a lot of traffic to potential advertisers is to be able to show that they have a lot of posts. More posts typically means more people on a website which typically means advertisers are more interested in spending $. The motivation to save disk space, which is getting cheaper every day, may be lacking especially since text based postings actually consume only a small amount of disk space."Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy
