I think it would be nice to insert the birthdate somewhere in the profile, and generate an automatic B-day message in the Bonfire...
could also be done with skybirthdays

That'd be cool, but there are a lot of people signed up as members who never post... we'd be looking at an announcement going "um...who???"

well... maybe the same people would just NOT fill in the birthdate box, or there maybe could also be an auto serach to find if the person posted in the last month/6 months etc...

That seems so impersonal. I think it's great when a friend starts a thread about someone's bday. A random/generic message is icky.

Nevermind that they'll all be ignored and it would just generate more posts, which would clutter.
