As suggested in the attached thread, someone wishing to submit a classified ad would have to complete a form that includes all S/Ns, condition, DOM, etc.

A query of S/Ns against the missing/stolen database.

I think that is too much information to require from a seller. I could make those fields optional. Besides the fact that many items simply don't have a S/N or DOM (closing pin jewelry, slider...long list) making this a mandatory field will deter people who are uncertain about the information from listing.

I suggest you ask the seller for this information when you start your negotiations when it's an item that has a S/N or DOM and it's relevant. Check it against the Stolen Gear database - it's a quick search.
