mountainman 0 #1 March 2, 2003 Hi Sangiro: My thoughts were that you could offer something in the Control Panel that would allow you to either hide or show each of the forums. I know that you have the "+" and "-" button for the catagories, but there are so many that I dont use. For instance, in the first one, I only use general forum, not the woman's or the other. If I could disable those from being viewed, that would be awesome. And then just showing the FREEFLY and VIDEO forums under skydiving. Anyway, its just a thought so the whole forum view isn't 500 pages long. LOL http://www.brandonandlaura.com
TomAiello 26 #2 March 2, 2003 I believe Sangiro actually consciously decided not to make that an option.See his response to the same suggestion here.-- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com
mountainman 0 #3 March 2, 2003 So, it was more of a "I didn't feel like it" ? That's cool. Just thought I would throw it out there. It would still make it a lot more user friendly. :)http://www.brandonandlaura.com
TomAiello 26 #4 March 2, 2003 I'm not sure what Sangiro's thinking was.My thinking is that by seeing all the forums, we encourage more of a "community" feel. We're more likely to just pop over to CRW (for example), and have a look. That way, we all pull together more, rather than having this place end up segmented between various types of jumpers, with each group hovering around their own forum, and never really meeting the others, or getting exposed to other disciplines.I like keeping everything visible, just as a community building tool.-- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com
SkydiveMonkey 0 #5 March 2, 2003 I suggested this a while ago, but no-one listened ____________________ Say no to subliminal messages
mountainman 0 #6 March 2, 2003 Good call. I see what you're saying. I pop in other forums at times to check them out and see what's new. BTW.. "You've got a PM". :)http://www.brandonandlaura.com
AggieDave 6 #7 March 3, 2003 That and HH doesn't want a high level of customization on the user end for the site. That's why he doesn't have the feature for different color schemes inabled. He wants his site to look totally like his site. Know what I mean?--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."

Although it would be cool to pick from blue, red, green, black, and purple. That would be sweet. Either way... I understand about it not being too customizable.http://www.brandonandlaura.com
