wmw999 2,587 #1 January 12, 2003 As an intermediate step between no sanctions and banning, would it be possible to maybe have "repeat offenders" who aren't quite offensive enough have a warning (kind of like the one in the Incidents forum) come up whenever they post, asking them (in big bright red letters) if they need to engage their brain or tact before hitting the ENTER key? Knowing that you've been enough of a dipshit to have to do this might stop some people, without having it become a topic of public discussion (which can lead to defensiveness). I'd see this as something any moderator can do, and not necessarily an HH-only thing (although this ain't no damn democracy) Wendy W.There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. (tbrown)
ernokaikkonen 0 #2 January 13, 2003 Ah, a "yellow card". I like it. A "You're this close from being banned" on top of every posting-form could indeed make people think twice about hitting "Post".
