Craig 0 #1 October 22, 2002 I have been to message boards where there is a post with rules/regulations/etc. that stays at the top of the list. After just visiting the Incidents forum and seeing that someone bumped the post with the forums intentions back to the top I thought this might be a possibility for this (incidents) forum. I attached a screen shot of a forum that does this. In this case it is labeled "Announcement", the ones labeled "Sticky" stay at the top regardless as well. sangiro 26 #2 October 22, 2002 Yup - I know about "sticky" posts. Too much time to build that in at this time. I can tweak it by changing the date on the "welcome" post so it'll always be at the top, but that screws up the "new post" markers. It's a good idea though and I know I need to do something to get the welcome post up front.Safe swoops Sangiro

fudd 0 #4 October 23, 2002 Also an idea would be to make dropdown lists for topics on new posts in the incidents forum. "fatal/nonfatal", "Collision, Cutaway, low turn, highspeed mal" "free text"... Might work, but maybe not a great idea. Just popped into my head... Maybe better, instead of a sticky post. Why don't you just post a short reminder of the forum rules at the editor page so it's visible when people are writing the posts. Some script like "if forum=incidents print "Think before you post..." What about using the forum rules as default text for the editor window? Just some thoughts.... There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't. Yes, I like this solution. Let's see how it goes.... Safe swoops Sangiro
