lacouf 0 #1 February 20, 2009 Hi, I just come back from Puerto Rico (amazing boogie) where I met a guy who told me about sleeves that allows us to wear our parachute equipment in a wind tunnel. Does anyone know where we can get these sleeves ? Blue skies, Francois

LloydDobbler 2 #3 February 22, 2009 Before you go investing the money in one of the sleeves, you should probably talk to the tunnel you're planning on flying in and make sure it's okay with them, too. True, shoes and helmets have come off in the tunnel before, but they generally get stopped by the grate at the top before they can do permanent damage. An uncontrolled canopy, OTOH, could do a lot more damage than a tunnel owner/operator may be willing to risk....Signatures are the new black.
leroydb 0 #4 February 22, 2009 there are somethings you can do to stop the canopy from coming out such as using a pullup cord or removing pc. YA YA I know you might be scared to do that because someone might not actually do a gear check.... but if you can afford to use the wind tunnel, you might assume they should be smart enough to...... never mind...Leroy ..I knew I was an unwanted baby when I saw my bath toys were a toaster and a radio... bliston 0 #6 February 23, 2009 another option is to buy an old rig, fill it with foam and weight, and then seal it up through the main and reserve grommets using dacron and fat knots. Safe, easy, and relatively cheap.Mass Defiance 4-wayFS website sticks!

Actually from my experiences shoes generally make it through the turn vanes of most of the recirculating tunnels and then through the fans. If the RAT doors are open (outside air source) then pieces can end up on the roof, and sometimes they stop in the basement, but be ready for junk to come back through the chamber. Orlando and Perris seem to stop the shoes most of the time, and I don't know about AZ.---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously. NeedToJump 0 #10 February 23, 2009 A tunnel specific rig with no pilot chute and no way to open is a much better option. A tunnel will be more likely to let you use this then a real rig with a cover.Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com
