FreeflyGoat 0 #1 November 7, 2006 Is it possible to retrofit the older tunnels to re-circulating technology or higher powered engines? Just wondering._________________________ goat derka jerka bukkake jihad
mattjw916 2 #2 November 7, 2006 all it takes is money lol... I don't think "retrofitting" a tunnel to make it recirc is necessary or cost-effective BTW. Sure 20ft recirc tunnels would be nice, but hardly anyone would be able to afford to fly in them lol.NSCR-2376, SCR-15080
piisfish 140 #3 November 7, 2006 Bodyflight Bedford was retrofitted wasn't it ?scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM
Stumpy 284 #4 November 7, 2006 Yes it was in terms of the mechanics (prop, coolers, motor etc etc etc) but it was already recirculating. I get the impression the OP is talking about converting tunnels like perris to be recirc rather than straight through.Never try to eat more than you can lift
tdog 0 #5 November 7, 2006 I believe Orlando got new motors and controllers a while back to make it "newer technology"... I hear the software that controls the tunnels is always being improved too...
tunnelfly 0 #6 November 8, 2006 Bodyflying Switzerland was retrofitted two years ago. The flight area was enlarged by about 30% (area, not diameter). A more powerful motor, new prop, and a detachable "airpipe" made this tunnel "skydiver-friendly". No.1 reason NOT to be an astronaut: ...You can't drink beer at zero gravity...
