maratumba 0 #1 May 31, 2006 Hi all, I am very new in this sport, with only 17 jumps:) I am an aerospace engineer and I wonder if you can help me:) I am jumping in Turkey, Izmir, Ephesus. Some of you may recognize it from first world air games. That's a nice place to jump, I suppouse:) www.dzephesus.com Anyway, I'll ask directly.. What do you think about having a wind tunnel in ephesus? There are people interested here in Turkey to fly in it but I think there should be more divers to make this facility feasible. What is expected from a good tunnel? Why should people come to Turkey? How can it be unique? Will you come if there one exist? Will people in USA be interested about it? Or only European people will come? Or will nobody come, because of Bedford, or other tunnels in Europa:) What do you think, is this a realistic project?? Thanks for your replies.. See you in the air.. Gokhan
Paige 0 #2 May 31, 2006 If you build it they will come. I had a student from Turkey who proposed the same thing and has spoken w. Trevor. Good luck, I'd love to come visit. I know for my a HUGE thing would be safety and my well being. Esp. since I am a female and might be traveling alone. If you can provide a SAFE & FUN time, I see no reason to not to go play Tunnel Pink Mafia Delegate www.TunnelPinkMafia.com

It's a fairly safe place for tourists, as long as you stay away from the borders with Syria/Iraq/Iran. However, it's not completely safe.
mdrejhon 8 #4 June 2, 2006 From what I've been reading, it seems that the most successful windtunnels are ones that cater to a wide market segment -- open to non-skydivers as well as skydivers -- so something to keep in mind. An amusement, a tourist attraction. Could cost millions of dollars/euros though! You probably are already aware of the manufacturers (see Bodyflight.net for a listing)
