skycat 0 #1 May 30, 2006 So I'm looking into tunnel suits for myself and another girl at the tunnel. We are flying in every position except head down (hopefully coming soon) so it needs to be a freefly style suit. The instructors Tony Suits have sucked, Derek is constantly repairing his and the other instructors suits as well as has had to mod all of them because well none of them fit right. So they are out of the running for us. So who do you recommend for durability, customer service (in case it doesn't fit right), and of course style?Fly it like you stole it! freeflydrew 0 #2 May 30, 2006 I like the look of the ouragon suits... but I wear my matter suit. Same as skydiving
PhreeZone 20 #3 May 30, 2006 We have some Freak'n Suits around that were built for the tunnel around the DZ. HEAVY duty. One of them has at least 500 jumps and hours and hours on it in the tunnel with out a single issue.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

Stumpy 284 #5 May 30, 2006 Ouragan are really nice but WAAAY overpriced. Sonic ones are pretty nice. Do you need it in ZP or will a normal freefly type suit do you?Never try to eat more than you can lift
tdog 0 #6 May 30, 2006 Watch the zippers... I know you don't like Tony from your post, but when Alan's suit blew out in Zhills this spring and he went to Tony (next door) to get it repaired, Tony looked at his zipper and said, "you can't fly in the tunnel with this kind of zipper" and Alan said, how did you know I was in the tunnel? I had to replace my zipper too - the small metal teeth type blew out on me to, whereas the large plastic teeth zipper I replaced it with has been rock solid... I know you are not belly flying on the net on your belly a lot, but zippers (and/or the fabric that covers them) really matter... But I bet you knew that. VegasBrad 0 #7 May 30, 2006 I have a two piece FireFly freefly suit that I have flown in 4 different tunnels from Flyaway Vegas to Skyventures to the Appalacian Amusement Center. The suit flys great and is holding up really well. The two piece is great for skydiving but the jacket likes to ride up in tunnels. Other than that we all love ours. The staff here at Flyaway Vegas all wears the FireFly freefly pants while instructing and everyone likes the way they fly and we havn't had problems with durability. Customer service was excellent.Brad Hess Manager Vegas Indoor Skydiving
Paige 0 #8 May 31, 2006 Ouragan is the only way to go. Her tunnel suits can be ZP or not depending on what tunnel you fly. I'll be getting my 3rd suit from Nancy soon. Each one is more than I've dreamed of. You'll love what she does and how great your butt looks in her suit. diablopilot 2 #11 June 1, 2006 Flite Suit. 1000 hours on mine and just starting to show wear. Must request the full length zipper cover.---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
Zenister 0 #12 June 1, 2006 so how do "Tunnel" suits fare in the sky? i know alot of 'normal' skydive suits have 'extra' material that beats the hell out of the fliers neck when upright (so a few coaches i know have made waist harnesses to keep them in place) but what i'm wondering if its possible to make a "Tunnel" suit that will still have enough 'play' to fit comfortablly under a rig without restricting my range of motion?____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. diablopilot 2 #13 June 1, 2006 Mine does fine, of course it's just a freefly suit with mods. Tunnel instructors have little need for ZP baggy specific suits for the job they do, and the newer SkyVenture tunnels are powerful enough not to need the use of such suits for creative flying.---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. riddler 0 #14 June 3, 2006 Quotehead down (hopefully coming soon) Heh - Jeannie saw the video of our tunnel time earlier this week. She said "hey, is that Derek free-flying ?!?!" I told her that I don't think he would like to hear it called "free-flying" First hook, now Skycat. What is this world coming to? Trapped on the surface of a sphere. SkymonkeyONE 4 #15 June 8, 2006 Ouragan. Get the "tunnel flap" full zipper cover. Mine is total overkill for "regular" skydiving, but it's absolutely bad-ass. I got the tunnel flap on mine, though it's for skydiving, because I don't think it's possible to blow a zipper out with this design and I have had that happen to me before with my other suits. The tunnel will positively destroy a standard RW suit after not long at all. Yes, my Ouragan suit cost a fortune, but I believe it was totally worth it.
