Paige 0 #1 November 16, 2005 What have you found to be beneficial (or not) from your big name coaches? Was it worth the expense? Did you learn a ton? Would you do it again with the same coaches or would you do it different next time? I found the positives of what can be in a name after an initial bad exp. but the good stuff first Their briefings, in air insturction, and debriefings were top notch. I don't always get it quick, I was amazed at how many ways they could each describe the same thing and the great examples they would use to clarify. Every time I have flown with one of the above a light bulb has gone off and my flying has improved greatly. Soooooo worth the expense if you are serious about improving your flying. You can't match their experience in the tunnel and the sky. You can't match their attitude and excitment for flying and coaching. They make you excited to fly and learn. My first 20 minutes in the tunnel I worked with a 'big name' and it was a complete waste of my time and money. I would have had better luck trying to burn my money in the air stream Tunnel Pink Mafia Delegate www.TunnelPinkMafia.com
Bodyflight.Net 0 #2 November 16, 2005 Does EVERYBODY here pay for coaching??? (perhaps that's another pollAs someone who has never shelled out money for more instruction than the tunnel actually provides with my airtime, I don't have much to contribute. But I would say that the list you made of coaches is pretty much top of the line for SkyVentures! I'd call them top notch coaches for sure... course I don't know Joe but I've heard many good things! My students don't pay but I'm not even a name let alone a big name I think its great that John gives back the way he does at AAC, very admirable. John gave me some pointers that really made a difference, I'd love for the hip to hold up longer next time so I can really get the goods out of him Tunnel Pink Mafia Delegate www.TunnelPinkMafia.com
matttrudeau 0 #4 November 16, 2005 I've been coached by Joe, Fabian, Joao and Carlos. I was coached by them when I worked for the tunnel. Carlos and Joe were my Instructor Trainers during my training so I spent the most time with them. Their understanding of bodyflight is extremely high. Much higher than most people know. They taught me a lot about instructing and flying in the tunnel. I was also coached by Joao and Fabian towards the end of my tenure. Their styles of flying and coaching helped me become a smoother flyer. For me, the best time to work with a bodyflight coach is when I've hit a roadblock. There were many roadblocks I hit at the tunnel and they helped me push through them. Not just by encouragement but through proper instruction and mental preparation. Flying is much more mental than physical and they helped me become a better mental flyer. After I pushed through a roadblock I would work on mastering those skills until I got stuck on something. I highly recommend tunnel coaching from them if you're serious about becoming a much better total body pilot.

Joe saved my confidence (and improved it greatly) and helped moved me past a few huge road blocks. MacCormac (great hd help) did the same as did Fabian and Joao for my back flying (I wasn't hd when I worked with Fabian & Joao). Glad to hear I'm not the only one who hits roadblocks. I forgot Carlos (doh!), I've worked with him a little informally and he was amazing as well. You are right on with their mental take or approach to flying, I loved it too. I understood so much more of what my body was doing with Joe, how he explained it just worked so well with me. So happy he does the same for others, I think he's just an amazing coach.Tunnel Pink Mafia Delegate www.TunnelPinkMafia.com
matttrudeau 0 #6 November 16, 2005 Joao is one of the best back flyers i've seen in the tunnel. Joey Jones is also incredible. It's amazing how important back flying is in the tunnel. Flying with your head tilted back gives you the visuals of head down so you can get comfortable with it. Their instruction has made it much easier for us. They had to experiment to see what was effective. Too much to learn..
