Paige 0 #4 July 26, 2005 I aim to please Side note: I LOVED my trip to Flyaway Las Vegas. Keith is very knowledgable and along with his staff they all took great (that's an understatement) care of Ari and I. Keith is a great owner, flyer (although I've only seen video), and has a killer staff. Not to mention they are in LAS VEGAS!!! Mockingbird 0 #5 July 27, 2005 Houston is supposedly the future site of two wind tunnels. I find it a little hard to believe--- two? But go to these two websites to read about them. http://www.zerogroom.com/ http://www.bodyflight.net/adren-l-n_2.html The Zero-Gravity one is a Skyventure tunnel, and is due to open next spring. Let's keep our fingers crossed, ok?Blue skies & happy jitters ~Mockingbird "Why is there something rather than nothing?"
matthewcline 0 #6 July 27, 2005 The Adren-l one was told to me by the fellow who helps make them. So it look pretty good for Houston to have 2 tunnels! Yeah, it will meen a price war and cheap flights for us frugal flyers! MattAn Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!! AggieDave 6 #7 July 28, 2005 Both said they would be open in 2005 last year, so lets keep our fingers crossed that the date of completion doesn't keep getting moved back. Does anyone know if either has even broken ground yet?--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
skip 0 #8 July 28, 2005 I was under the impression that the zero-g room or what ever was dead in the dirt.
Paige 0 #9 July 28, 2005 I've emailed them recently to let them know of the Tunnel Pink Mafia. Their response was letting me know I would be on the list of people to contact as they get closer to opening. Hopefully, I'll hear from them soon and if it is appropriate I will let you know what I can (not that I'd have some super secret info or anything like that but it's not my info to be spreading on the forums).Tunnel Pink Mafia Delegate www.TunnelPinkMafia.com
Mockingbird 0 #10 July 29, 2005 I emailed the Zero-G Room and asked. Got this reply from Dennis E.: "Hi Cannie, I am sorry to say, we have not broken ground yet. We are still working hard to make that happen, so don't give up. Thanks for your interest and watch our site for updates. riddler 0 #13 November 14, 2007 Any further news on the Houston tunnel? Doesn't seem like the news has changed much in the last few years.Trapped on the surface of a sphere. XKCD
Mockingbird 0 #14 November 15, 2007 Not a single word. Bummer. Texas... for having three of the largest cities in the U.S., you'd think there would be a wind tunnel somewhere within its borders.Blue skies & happy jitters ~Mockingbird "Why is there something rather than nothing?"
