davedlg 0 #252 December 2, 2005 I didn't see any pitot tubes. Maybe you are seeing somthing I don't know about in the pic. If you are referringto the blue, that is painter's tape. edit: Now that I look closely, I see what you are referring to. They are the small tubes just below the net. I was looking for the size of pitot tubes you find on aircraft. I didn't even know what I was taking a picture of
Hooknswoop 19 #253 December 2, 2005 I circled them. Do you know if those are pitot tubes? Derek
davedlg 0 #254 December 2, 2005 Yeah, I see what you are referring to now. I would have to assume they are pitot tubes, but I don't know for sure. I guess that would be the most logical place for a pitot tube. Here is a full size pic from the original image.

rehmwa 2 #258 December 6, 2005 I've already been in contact with the managers for the CO tunnel (Mary and Norm). Concerning a private tunnel camp. Although we went with a known coach in Orlando this time (one who knows our team very well) I'd like to note the following: 1 - This was a great experience, even before they are opening all my questions were answered and it was a pleasure to talk/correspond with them. 2 - They did go out of the way to try and work a deal with us for the bulk time and work to schedule based on our camper tunnel loading needs. They don't have to do that. 3 - Once they get fully staffed up and the full pro-coaching resources lined up (VERY SOON) they will be a top notch training tunnel. The only reason we didn't try out the new (and recirculating design) tunnel this time was our need to get travel plans in place wouldn't time out with our ability to pull together the exact style camp we were trying to set up. I'm sure with another month or so it would have happened (and been tied to nice ski vacation also>....) I think this will be an extremely well run business and very customer focused. {{Thanks Mary}} ... That new boss of mine is a slave driver and never gives me any rest Pam, I'll call you tomorrow between flights. I promise. As for the level of Foxiness at the Colorado tunnel, maybe I can get Norm to paint it purple! Would that bring you out here? Or is it my sweet personality that would bring the team out? rehmwa 2 #263 December 8, 2005 We still might come out for an hour or so over our daughter's spring break just for fun (Airline tickets from here can be as low as $99 when booked within a month - It's almost a sin to NOT come out). I think the recirc will really give clean air. (if we come out for more than just a long weekend, I'll bring my gear and call you guys though) I can't handle the altitude - thin air, damaged lungs. Other than that, Colorado is my #1, very favorite, place I'd like to live. Last high altitude jump I did was only 22k (msl) and I had tunnel vision all the way down to 15K (msl) {{But,,,,,,, climbing around and hiking in that air might just be the final cure to get the lung capacity up}} Let me know when the area DZs get an Otter. The interest in SkyVenture Colorado has been amazing to say the least. The Forum on Dropzone.com concerning our operation has seen over 6000 visitors and is the number one discussion on wind tunnels out of 308. Our web site gets thousand of visits every day with virtually no advertising. The job site gets fly overs and visits from future customers every day. Virtually every news agency in Denver is following our every step. All of this is directly attributable to the fun, energetic, exciting people in this sport and in Colorado. We love our state and we love to play. Crew Update Seven of our Flight Crew members have been hired. Philippe Tassin as Assistant Manager and Flight Crew is joined by Mary SantAngelo as Reception Manager. Working with them are four fantastic flyers with incredible experience in many varied aspects of flight. Jason Russell, Brad Cole, Derek Vanboeschoten, and Matt Burge start their training December 5th in Orlando and then should finish up around mid January in our own tunnel for the long awaited opening. We have secured some of the finest tunnel instruction in the world for our crew with Rusty Lewis and Joe Winters heading up our teams entire four week class. We have also managed to talk both Rusty and Joe to stay an extra two weeks to help us out for the inevitably busy start up. Construction The construction site has appeared to hit overdrive. With the difficult air flow path behind us, we are completing tasks at an unprecedented pace. The parking lot is graded, both roofs are going on, the electrical system is moving extremely well, the cable floor is complete, and the exterior stucco is moving so fast I can't take pictures fast enough! OPENING DAY: JANUARY 20th 2005 Now Taking Reservations We are very pleased to announce that reservations are now being taken for January 20th and beyond with the potential to move these up if we open a week early. Look for coaching and tunnel camps to be announced very soon. We updated our web site. "Flying in Three Easy Steps?" has been added in order to help you understand that the sport of Indoor Skydiving is safe and for everyone. It is Pure Fun for the whole family. Check out the Online Forum (http://www.skyventurecolorado.com/forum) where you can share your tunnel experiences and thoughts.
