speedy 0 #1 June 23, 2008 The tandem landed with out a cutaway. But it does look like a line over to me. See attached photos. Edited to add third photo. Dave Fallschirmsport Marl
AggieDave 6 #2 June 23, 2008 Yup, lineover. It happens and it clears on its own sometimes. Although I had one clear the wrong way a few years ago, so I had a line going around the canopy...yeah it got chopped.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." skydiver30960 0 #3 June 23, 2008 Nice pics. Yup, nice lineover. It's pretty deep, the TI did good to clear it. Or did you mean that they landed with the lineover still in place? In that case, DAMN! I had a really small one clear on it's own for me a while back. After deployment I'm "checking the corners" and see an itty-bitty lineover. As I'm reaching up to see if I can clear it, I hear a little zzzzzzip-pop! and it cleared on it's own. Take a deep breath, release the brakes, do the control check, and continue the skydive as normal. Elvisio "spoke to the packer" Rodriguez
JohnMitchell 16 #4 June 23, 2008 I almost chopped a T the other day. Tension knots in all the left side A-B lines, slider hung up. Couple of pumps on the toggels, no effect. Told Brooke, the passenger, on her 2nd tandem, BTW, to hang her feet, head back, yada yada, 'cause we had to chop. She was sooo cool with it all, just said "okay." I let go of the toggles, grab the handles, looked up one last time . . . and it cleared! When I got down, she told her friends that we almost had to use the reserve, just like the first time she went.Don't know what it was about that girl but she tipped me $20.BTW, great canopy pics. riggerrob 643 #6 June 24, 2008 Line-overs are far more common than skydivers are willing to admit. Most of the time, they clear themselves during opening or when you release the brakes. Few skydivers even realize that they suffered line-overs ... until a rigger bills them for patches to the (burnt) top skin.

Helped me last year in clearing a tandem line-over. Bad for the videoman, good for meUsing your droque to gain stability is a bad habid. . . Also in case you jump a sport rig!!! Mask 0 #8 June 25, 2008 Was that me? Gulp! If it is me, I can only say that I did not realize it. Solved too fast by itself. First tandem on Saturday? If so, OK, at least not my pack job! The good don't always win.
