Student freak'n out! (UPDATE from a previous thread)

Recommended Posts

Hello all! First, I would like to begin by thanking each and every one of you for your supportive advice. Every post on this thread meant something to me, and I took a piece of everyones advice to the DZ with me.

Last week I took the family to Disney in Orlando. It was going to be a short trip just for the kids, but I knew the tunnel was only 25 min. away. I was with my wife and kids, at Disney, and all I could think about was That I had to hit that tunnel before I leave. I convinced my wife that we needed to stay another day so I could do this.... It didn't take too much covincing, she was very willing to stay.:)

I went to the DZ yesterday and made three GREAT jumps. What I mean by "GREAT" is, that I felt confident. My pulls were stable and I felt in control. I made my first PLF in a corn field and got up laughing my ass off. It was sooooo much fun. Although I know it would be much better landing in the appropriate area. Stood one of my landings up and was pretty proud of that.

My instructor is the best! We sat down and talked for a bit about my concerns and made me feel very comfortable. Everyone that I have talked to about this fear issue has being very understanding and let me work it out in my own time. For that I'm grateful to you all.

One bad note I have to share is that it is a beautiful day and I decided not to skydive. I ended up drinking an ass load of beer with a bunch of new friends , and had to crash at the DZ bunkhouse. I woke up with a nice lesson to be learned.... If I want to make some skydives the next day, limit my alcohol consumption and get a proper nights sleep.(I think it was too windy for me to jump anyway) I feel like shit, but I've got the biggest grin on my face:)

THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sorry for the spelling and grammar mistakes
See ya in a minute. Peace out!

You learned one lesson on your first day that it takes most other skydivers longer to learn.....If you want to just the next day, only hang out for a couple beers......

Congrats.

Some of them never have learned and never will.

My reality and yours are quite different.
I think we're all Bozos on this bus.
