riggerrob 643 #1 June 26, 2006 What is the best camera helmet for a static-line or IAD jump master?
sdctlc 0 #2 June 26, 2006 I think if your looking to do video of the noted exits ANY side mount helmet will be ther direction to go. Your opening the can of which side mount helmet is best and that would be separate from the S/L or IAD question. Side is going to be better IMHO as top will get you in a funny position in the door for the job at hand. Also side is not going to distract you from the Jumpmaster job in getting into the funny position in the door. PhreeZone 20 #3 June 26, 2006 Would it not be better to mount the camera to the plane then you never have to worry about it?Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
Mickochet 0 #4 June 27, 2006 It is my understanding that mounting a camera to the plane is frowned upon. Please correct me if I am mistaken. If you never fall down you aren't trying hard enough.
riggerrob 643 #5 June 27, 2006 We already have cameras mounted in our airplanes, but they are 10 or 12 years old and are starting to become maintenance headaches. It was difficult to convince Transport Canada that they were a good idea in the first place. The other problem is that they are "chip" surveillance cameras that have no where near the resolution of modern digital cameras.
AggieDave 6 #6 June 27, 2006 If you already have approval for the cameras on your AC, how much of a stretch is it to switch the cameras out?--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
