lisamariewillbe 1 #1 March 1, 2006 Due to a thread in the safety section of dz.com, I am concerned with the thoughts of this being an acceptable dive flow for a tandem passenger. Would you, as a TI, take a tandem out in a hybrid (hanger holding on to the chest strap of the passengers harness) with 2 skydivers in a sit flanking the sides of the hybrid only a few feet away?Sudsy Fist: i don't think i'd ever say this Sudsy Fist: but you're looking damn sudsydoable in this

lisamariewillbe 1 #3 March 1, 2006 Glad you feel that way, however there is alot of discussion that refrences this poll in the other thread and I am learning who I wouldnt bring a wuffo to. Thanks for your opinion though.Sudsy Fist: i don't think i'd ever say this Sudsy Fist: but you're looking damn sudsydoable in this

Let's keep the conversation going in the other thread so good input doesn't get missed because it got divided between two threads in two forums. Thanks.Arrive Safely John

lisamariewillbe 1 #10 March 1, 2006 QuoteSo your going to poll DZ.commers and find out who's bad and who's good. Interesting hahahaaa No read where i wrote IN the other thread where the instructors (for lack of better word, having a rating makes them one, but to me they are not) are calling themselves out saying its okay to add extra problems to a tandem. What I find interesting is you backed out of that thread once high jump number instructors started agreeing and adding to the conversation. Dont get so defensive towards me just because I dont agree with your safety ideas on that picture. Ive not been rude to you, no need for bad behavior. You can do what you want at your dz with your students, I dont have to agree with it. I dont have to jump there, and I dont have to bring tandems there. My points have been proven valid in regards to the photo. This poll has accomplished enough with the connection to the other thread. Have a wonderful day.Sudsy Fist: i don't think i'd ever say this Sudsy Fist: but you're looking damn sudsydoable in this

No, I backed out when I realized that whole post was turning into another bitch tournament and I had a mid-term to study for and a volleyball game to go to. Thanks though. DanglesOZQld 0 #12 March 2, 2006 As a tm we used to have EXPERIENCED outside camera guys take out the tandem holding on to the chest strap of the student. Made for some great exit shots. There were some basic rules though..... 1) The student was briefed and totally ok with this 2) Usually no stills/photos as quality not possible with close quarters! 3) The T/m and camera guy were both ok and ok'd for doing this exit type and they talked at length re spin numbers / problems etc. At the end of the day the tm pax pay a lot of money so both safety as well as their own enjoyment are BIG considerations. If you want to play big time you do it on YOUR OWN TIME. My own Opinion! BSBD!! -Mark. "A Scar is just a Tattoo with a story!!!"
douwanto 22 #13 March 6, 2006 Never with a student. The instructor has know way to communicate with the hanger if there is a problem( drogue wraped around students foot or detached or deflated ) these are only a few there are more reasons the TI may need to deploy early or instantly. I beleave the force of the trapdoor is enough to severly hurt the passenger and the hanger. I guess some TI's and their friends may beleave they are bullet proof and have the right to put their student in that kind of danger. I know I dont have that right.
