GSmith 0 #1 December 27, 2005 Has anyone ever had a problem with a student's sweatshirt hood inflating in your face? I try to talk them out of wearing it, then tuck them under the harness or jumpsuit.
matthewcline 0 #2 December 27, 2005 1 time yes, after that they either take them off or I ensure it is held down by the Sigma Student Harness back pad.An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

slotperfect 7 #4 December 28, 2005 I would do exactly the same . . . see if they had something else to wear instead. If not, I would invert it and stuff it down their back so it stays out of the way - making a mental note to double check it before I move to the door.Arrive Safely John
Kimblair13 0 #5 December 28, 2005 No. But almost all my 400 tandems were in the summer with not too many peoples wearing sweatshirts. The ones that did didn't bother me. I wear a hoody too. So it's hooderiffic
riggerrob 643 #6 December 28, 2005 No problems with hoodies. Most of the time I help students tuck their hoods in side their jumpsuits. A few times hood have snuck out, but stayed below my chin and did not bother me. Heck! I am so insensitive, those hoods barely registered on my conscious mind! rhys 0 #7 December 29, 2005 no problems with the hood, i wear one all winter. but what i do do is take the string out of mine and ensure students ones are pulled even and well away, wouldn't want one to entangle in the three ring!? hoodies rule though."When the power of love overcomes the love of power, then the world will see peace." - 'Jimi' Hendrix
SkymonkeyONE 4 #8 January 3, 2006 I can't say that I have ever encountered that problem on a tandem. Like most everyone else has stated, I just stick it down the back of the harness or invert it and stick it back down their back. Chuci
Revillusion 0 #9 January 19, 2006 I agree with Chuck ... Never had one inflate. I try to stuff it down inside their T shirt, or undershirt, or whatever. Just not down inside itself. VIRTUS JUNXIT MORS NON SEPARABIT
