MarcusV 0 #1 March 1, 2002 Can anyone please explain me the difference between an instructor and a jumpmaster? And the difference between AFF and IAD? And what means back, chest, seat, lap (...) rigger?Excuse me if these questions sound stupid - but here in Germany it seems to be different: S/L jumpmaster, AFF jumpmaster, Tandemmaster, AFF-/Tandem-Examiner etc. ... but nothing in between...Thank youblues Marcus--Perfect speed, my son, is being there. - Jonathan Livingston Seagull
LawnDart21 0 #2 March 1, 2002 The back, chest, seat & lap are differnt types of reserves that the rigger is rated to repack.
PhreeZone 20 #3 March 1, 2002 Jumpmasters are a thing of the past. USPA did away with the rating in the first part of this year. It used to be a JM could do most but not everything an Instructor can do.IAD is Instructor Assisted Deployment. Similar to static line, but the instructor throws the pilot chute.Cause I don't wanna come back down from this cloud... ~ Bush
