RozeAY 0 #1 March 25, 2002 ___________________________________________________Jump#7....7 way cluster dive!!! The Georgia Tech 4 way team has been practicing a lot lately. (Watcher is on that) Well.....we got together 7 free flyers and chased them out the door. Funneled their formation and then took off on a nice sunset tracking dive. Everyone had a great time on that dive and the Tech students loved it!!! I don't think I have ever seen 12 people laughing so hard in free fall before. Made for great video too!!! ___________________________________________________And might I add that our 4-way team had absolutely no clue that they were going to chase us down like that...It definitely made for a great dive..and we really needed that. Thanks guys!Allison
freeflir29 0 #2 March 25, 2002 Well....hello Alli. Didn't know you lurked the forums. Glad you guys were such good sports. We even had someone that offered to cover your slots just in case it upset anyone. I haven't had that much fun on a dive in quite a while! See you guys next weekend. Just keep an eye out after you exit. You never know when free flyers might be hunting you......."I only have a C license, so I don't know shit..right?"-Clay
RozeAY 0 #3 March 25, 2002 Yea I'm around on here. :-) And we appreciate the offer to cover the slots but we were more than happy to take care of it...that was so much fun...and that is what skydiving is all about. I'll never forget turning from the hook to the unipod to pick up grips and to my surprise seeing Trey grinning like an idiot and the next thing I know getting taken out by 7 free flyers. It was a blast. I guess we'll have to be watching the door on our way out from now on....:-) See ya next weekend!Allison
polarbear 1 #4 March 25, 2002 Hey Clay,Glad you like the new canopy so much...the ellipticals can be a lot of fun! They also can seem "easier" to land...you have a more efficient wing, and thus have more ability to fly your way out of trouble if something isn't quite right. It does, of course, require that you recognize the problems and respond correctly to them.Keep in mind that many people don't get hurt on the first few jumps on a new canopy. Its when you find yourself in an undesirable/unfamiliar situation...landing in a bad spot, landing at high altitude, getting surprised by the altitude loss during a hook turn, etc. that the higher performance wings can REALLY get tricky. Remain vigilant, treat it with respect, and have fun!
