angrypeppers 1 #1 December 8, 2008 OK, this is a long shot, I know. My grandfather did some jumps and barnstorming back in the 1920's and 30's. His name was Clarence T. Willis. I don't know much of his history, and he passed away in 1985, so I can't ask him now. The story I was told long ago, is that he did a parachute jump to open up Capital City Airport (KCYX) in New Cumberland, PA somewhere around 1934. And I remember as a kid seeing a picture of him standing in front of an aircraft wearing a rig. I have his leather flight helmet, but nothing else aviation related. If anyone has heard of him, or knows some of his stories, I'd love to hear them. I'm trying to find his kids to see what they know, or if they have pictures. Unfortunately, my grandmother passed away earlier this year, so I can't ask her either.Burn the land and boil the sea, You can't take the sky from me.
