howardwhite 6 #1 May 9, 2008 For an article on the use of Twin Otters as jump planes, I want to talk with/exchange email with people with lots of experience as pilots, DZOs, and owners of them. I'l like to do this via email or phone rather than cluttering up the forums with random bits and pieces. And if anyone has verifiable information about jumps being made from a Twin Otter prior to April 17, 1971, I'd be eager to hear about it. Please PM me if you have useful info or want to suggest people I should talk with. HW
riggerrob 643 #2 May 11, 2008 Try asking the Canadian Armed Forces about Twin Otter jumps before 1971. ... not sure when the CAF bought their first Twin Otters??? The CAF operated a bunch of 100 series Twin Otters - - with aluminum, fold-up cargo doors - in para-training and CSAR roles. My first jump from a Twin Otter was at Canadian Forces Base Edmonton, in March of 1981.
