RichM 0 #1 April 8, 2002 In my short week or so as a dropzone.com member I am awed by the quality and quantity of information that is available here. Quite a few highly experienced skydivers regularly contribute here passing on your hard earned experience. From these forums I am learning things that might have taken me years to realise on my own. I could point out several examples, but that might laud some contributors and miss others which I would hate to do.So simply, Thanks. I am a safer skydiver because of the this forum and all of it's contributors.Rich M
AggieDave 6 #2 April 9, 2002 Rock on Rich, welcome to our community. In all the forums except for Talk Back, you'll find some great information and you'll notice that there are some seriously big names in the sport that read and post here. I know personally I have learned a great deal from hanging around. The other bonus is that I have honestly made some friends that I consider to be pretty good friends even though I haven't even met most of them yet. Another plus is now just about any DZ you go to you will find another dz.commer and you'll atleast have someone to show you around and introduce you to people and maybe get some jumps with you. "Are they short-shorts?" T.B.
Spy38W 0 #3 April 10, 2002 Quote Welcome, RichM, finally, some advice I think I am qualified to give, remember that you don't ever know who you are really talking to so double check things you read here, and back it up with common sense. While most everything here is written by experienced skydivers it is difficult to determine what is from new people (like myself) and experienced people, so don't just read something written and assume it is good advice--~Captain CutawayI can disassemble a rig in less than 5 seconds...
