It will be next wk before we can check this thing out we are working on. Does anyone have a list of the multiple suspects the FBI has had over the yrs. Even one they ruled out. None of us knew about this Burnworth - so how many more are there out there that the FBI or others thought might be good suspects. 1. Coffelt aka Ross 2. McCoy 3. Burnworth 4. Weber aka Collins 5. Gossett 6. Christiansen 7. Bradon (there were of these so we need first names also 8. Guru (well they did question him). 9. Dan Cooper - TX 10. Suspect present by attorney out of Maine - name never disclosed. We need complete names and vital statists - age, birthplace, schooling, experience, and where they were in 1971...if known and picture if available. Not sure anyone has ever made a detailed list of all suspects over the past 38 yrs...I am curious just how many serious suspects there have been or rumored to have been. Perhaps like Burnworth - one of those who surfaced many yrs later and none of us were aware of him.Copyright 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 2013, 2014, 2015 by Jo Weber

No, it wasn’t a joke. My archival hard drives are already packed so I can’t find the whole story. But as best as I remember was, I read the story in a NASCAR publication (Magazine, book, or web-page). I think it went something like this: Tom Busch ( a short-track racer out of Las Vegas) pissed someone off (if you know his two sons, you can see how that would be possible (probable)). So, the offended party called the FBI (anonymously) and said that they thought Busch was D.B. They cited a change in spending habits about 8 – 10 years after the hijacking. There may have been more coincidences, but at any rate the FBI DID investigate him and quickly cleared him. See photo attached. Also, it is the “NASCAR Sprint Cup: Coca-Cola 600 @ Charlotte Motor Speedway” that is run on the same day as the Indy 500. I know you open-wheeler’s have trouble remembering a schedule that has more than 8 races a year, so I thought I’d help you out. Seriously, the change of start-times may be to accommodate Bruton Smith who is offering to put $20M in escrow to award anyone who can win the Indy 500 and the Coke 600 in the same year. I think his $$$ is safe. There are a few drivers that have run both races (in the modern era) but non are capable of winning both in the same year (Tony Stewart would have the best shot). skyjack71 0 #18015 July 11, 2010 Did Busch ever live down around the Riverdale area (a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia)...even if it was not Riverdale it was probably in Clayton, County. I am asking this question because we went to a party down there - there were lots of cars and the host was a race car driver. Even my daughter remembers this...but neither of us knew who he was. It was quiet a party - and there were pictures and awards all - over the place. I have had a hard time remembering what yr. this was. It could have been before we moved to CO so that would be 1977..,weather was still nice outside. The other time would have been after we came back to Atlanta 1981 - 1982 (Approx)...as my daughter was also with us at that time. The only thing I know was it was Race Cars - but I know absolutely nothing about Race Cars and I knew no one there. I believe I discussed this before either here or in person with someone else. I am sure there is NO connection and this party (a daytime party with families) and Duane knowing any one related to race care driving is just sheer co-incidence. I had thought this happened in Alabama, but I was mistaken about this - and corrected by my daughter. I am getting old and recalling my life is getting more difficult each yr...I even thought maybe it was with another boyfriend and before I met Duane - but, my daughter says No. Seems before when this came up stock car racing was suggested - NO, it was not. I do know what stock cars are. This was real race cars.Copyright 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 2013, 2014, 2015 by Jo Weber
skyjack71 0 #18016 July 13, 2010 No relation to Cooper, but I need to acquire a copy of some home footage taken during the JFK assassination. This clip was the last one to ever be introduced and basically unknown until about 3 yrs ago - or at least not made available to the public. I saw something on TV when it was first aired but then it was SEALED. I contacted the PBS and at first it was available and then it was NOT. This was right after we went on a converter box (early 2009) and it would not allow me to record with a VCR. So far NO one as located a copy of this for me. It was crystal clear and not fuzzy like some many of the prior know videos done and those introduced in the early yrs. It was taken from a different angle than the ones used by the government in the beginning and in the background is a man in a dark suit with a overcoat over his left arm. He is walking away from the camera and to the left of the clip. It was made from the Drivers side of the road. If any one knows how to obtain this or has a copy - PLEASE either make me a copy or loan me your copy. What I really need are the still frames of that man.... At this time this is just something personal I need to see for myself - because I thought I recognized that man. NOTE: This is not related to Cooper, but since this is a public medium I was hoping someone might have a copy of this basically unknown video. Think back hard and any old suspects or jumpers who might have been questioned whose last name started with an R? What about smokejumpers whose last name started with an R? Also last names starting with an R that were questioned or came up as a Cooper suspect or accomplice? 1. Ross (the AKA of Cofflett). 2. Rackstraw Right now that is all I come up with. THIS is vert important and I need the help of the forum on this. Don't just pick a name - but, tell me what you know about your R suspect. He probably lived in the state of WA in the 60's and 70's. Don't even ask me WHY - just do this exercise and help me out. If you do not want to reveal this name in the thread then PM me. This may be the most important question I have ever posed to this thread and I am sorry I cannot tell you why I need this info...except to see if it matches information "We" have acquired. If I trusted the FBI I would go to them with this - but, the agents of record over the yrs had too many other cases on their table and this case required more than what our Government has been willing to devote to this old crime. New agents through out the yrs who have been assigned to this case - know very little and this thread (collectively) actually has compiled MORE information than any agent or agents have ever done. This may well be the first cold case of this kind ever solved in a public forum. It is ashame the FBI after almost 38 yrs keeps "some" information confidential in this case. The only one reason to maintain a confidential file on this old case after 37 yrs would lead one to believe...the officials knew who Cooper was...and for whatever reason the truth could not be disclosed. Think "R".Copyright 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 2013, 2014, 2015 by Jo Weber

skyjack71 0 #18021 July 16, 2010 377: Twice now I have done a reply to your post and twice it has gone POOF. It was about the wallet - the man who bought the Van called me and told me he had found my husband's wallet, but the contents of that wallet were for John C. Collins...this was military papers, drivers licenses and the Commutation of sentence. I told him I had my husband's wallet and didn't know what he was talking about. He returned the wallet one wk later and at that time told me he didn't know what was in the wallet that he didn't look inside. It was over 2 yrs before the FBI went to see him and they never got my opinion about what the man told me . Remember that when I sold the van to him in May of 1995 I did NOT know who Dan Cooper was. They would not interview the purchaser of the VAN until late 1997 or in early 98 - I do have that info in my files, but am making this brief so it will not go POOF for the 3rd time and it is almost 4 AM here. Also remember that at the time he found the WALLET he nor I knew who DAN Cooper was. What else was with that wallet? The 2 stories make me wonder and his wife would NOT talk to me at all ...when I went to their home about a yr after the FBI went to see them. If the widow was unaware of the wallet what else might I have been unaware of. Also where he said he found the wallet - both Ann and I searched the overhead compartment and there was NOTHING there. I believe it was hidden inside of the seats he changed out (he took the seat out of the rear on the right and used it to replace the Front drivers seat (the van had 4 captains seats). No one asked him if there was an old bag or some papers? It was just an old bank bag with the name of the bank on it and it did not have a handle, but it was clean and crisp and folded up. Why I have always asked if anyone ever made Cooper souveniers. Neither the husband or wife where required to take a polygraph..I told the FBI about the 2 stories - that should have been reason for a polygraph. The FBI did NOT do its job...had they have done their job they would understand why I question the above actions. To this day I still think there was more than that wallet found. Why was Duane so upset about my driving the VAN while he was in the hospital and asking me every day if I locked it. He never told me where to find whatever it was he hid in the wallet - if he did I was NOT listening. What would you do if you found something the wife did not know existed in an old van you purchased? What position would you be in if 2 yrs later the FBI is asking about a couple of hundred dollars you might have found in that old van you bought? What would you do if the FBI questioned you about it 2 yrs later? Especially if you had been informed this man had confessed to a high profile crime. I have very good reason to believe there was something else with that wallet - perhaps a bag or some other papers they just thought was trash of no value. How many of you would have returned a couple of hundred dollars in 20's to the widow? If you are honest here - 90% of you would have kept it.In 1990 Duane purchased several gold coins - I didn't know how we could afford this (I never saw a sales ticket) - he later sold one of them because he said someone offered him a good price - I do not know how someone could make money off of a gold coin in just a couple of yrs. Remember, he emptied out a safe deposit box before he died and left only the 1994 Soldier of Fortune magazine. PUT IT TOGETHER - [RED]Please someone listen to me - I have NOT made this shit up - NO WAY![/RED] If I was making this up don't you think I would have marketed it by now - it has been 14 ys and ALL I want is the truth and the FBI to do its job. You still complain about “things going poof.” Obviously you are doing the same things over and over but expecting different results (the definition of insanity). If you are honest here - 90% of you would have kept it. In 1990 Duane purchased several gold coins - I didn't know how we could afford this (I never saw a sales ticket) - he later sold one of them because he said someone offered him a good price - I do not know how someone could make money off of a gold coin in just a couple of yrs. Remember, he emptied out a safe deposit box before he died and left only the 1994 Soldier of Fortune magazine. PUT IT TOGETHER - Please someone listen to me - I have NOT made this shit up - NO WAY! If I was making this up don't you think I would have marketed it by now - it has been 14 yrs? I don't have a lot of time left to finish this - and what is in this thread is what I will be leaving behind... I think the readers would take my post more seriously than yours; I’d like to hear from them about it. Jo, if you think the FBI is going to help you investigate Duane in the year 2010, forget it! With budget cuts, terrorism on the rise (at least according to some) and the age of the NORJAK case reaching 40-years… IT’S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN! Even if you hadn’t proven yourself to be difficult to work with, having unrealistic expectations, and hostile to the Bureau, they will not expend resources on NORJAK (Duane or ANY suspect) at this time. THAT IS THE REALITY! LIVE WITH IT! If you want to investigate Duane’s background, hire a private detective or do it yourself (and drop the “dumb-blonde” routine), you CAN do the research! Jo, you are addressing an audience primarily composed of jumpers. You must have a dim view of skydiver integrity. I have seen wallets full of cash turned in at boogies a number of times over the years. Other dropzone.com readers can chime in here. Sure, we have thieves among us, but the average jumper is a decent person in my experience. If the guy was dishonest you'd probably have never been informed that ANYTHING was found in the van. Every little ambiguity is resolved as evidence that Duane was Cooper. If money was missing it had to be Norjack twenties. Contrary evidence is ignored or dismissed. The FBI is endlessly blamed for every hole in your speculative case. It is CLASSIC obsessive behavior. It's really too bad you can't see it. As for your frequently repeated "poof" claims, which imply that a third party is controlling your computer, just stop it. You have been told many times how to preserve files before you post them. It's dirt simple. Life is short and you imply that yours is very short. It would be a blessing if you could conquer this obsession and live the rest of your life in a less stressful manner. I do think Duane was involved in some murky stuff, but I see not one shred of evidence that he was Dan Cooper. NONE of the allegedly probative evidence you point to is available for inspection: the bank bag, the parking stub, the airline ticket, hot cash, I could go on and on. You may never learn all of Duane's scams, aliases and history, but why do you need to? He was someone you loved who lived a life of crime. He apparently wanted to be remembered as a big shot and allegedly claimed he was Dan Cooper. Leave it at that and enjoy the rest of your life without being tortured and literally consumed by your obsession. 3772018 marks half a century as a skydiver. skyjack71 0 #18024 July 17, 2010 Regardless of how I do the posts they still go Poof. Doing them in word and then copying them to the thread they still have to be set-up. It just comes over to the post as a bunch of words...which is why I could never be a writer - because I do better just talking and that is what I do here - talk but, with my fingers. I am also emotional about this - because I know what I saw and what I held in my hands with my own eyes and I know what he told me and the things he showed me. Remember I am self-taught with what computer knowledge I do have - most 4 th graders know more about computers than I do. Sure I come down on the FBI because I don't feel they did what they should have done back yrs ago. I did not mean for that 90% to be taken as my referring to jumpers - I was referring to the population as a whole and not to anyone group. Most individuals within a particular class of people will be honest, but this man called me about the "Wallet with my Husband's Identification in it" and the second story did not match the first story - that and that alone is why I question the authorities NOT talking to him again. Had I know who Dan Cooper was in 1995 - I would have handled it very differently. How many of you can claim that you never took anything that was not yours in your life? I took a candy bar when I was 7 yrs old. What would you do if you had taken even (1) twenty out of the wallet or found it somewhere in the van as you were cleaning it up? Be realistic here. Not everyone is totally 100% honest 100% of the time...it would be a wonderful world if it was, but that is just not how it is. I wonder if the government was still recording old serial numbers in 1995 before they were destroyed....this would be an interesting question and one that needs to be answered.Copyright 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 2013, 2014, 2015 by Jo Weber

Quote It would be a blessing if you could conquer this obsession and live the rest of your life in a less stressful manner. A blessing to let something go! This is exactly why our country is in the situtuation it is now - too many people turing their heads and looking the other way. Quote NONE of the allegedly probative evidence you point to is available for inspection: the bank bag, the parking stub, the airline ticket, hot cash, I could go on and on . Which is why I go on and on - hoping beyond all hope something will turn up. Hoping the FBI will do something and that someone is really listening. Hoping not all of this has been buried for eternity and there will be that one small thing I will say or remember or will be found that will bring this case to closure. Quote He apparently wanted to be remembered as a big shot and allegedly claimed he was Dan Cooper. That is easy for you to say, but - what would you do if it was someone you had spent 17 yrs of your life with? Why should I let writers and others out there continue to - offer suspect after suspect - and destroy the lives and memories of individuals who may NOT have been the best of characters, but definitely were not Cooper?
