I am not the one needing to prove anything! you are the one who needs to address the above issues, not me! your lack of knowledge about your Induction/exam process (backwards) tells the story of how you try and make things work with little or no knowledge of said events! once you have been bitten hard, you result to name calling like some little school boy in order to cover up your mistakes!
Nothing positive can be done on here while you are here, 100% of the posters do not believe you or your story and yet you continue to correct every statement made on here as if Bob has all of the answers to the 40+ year old mystery, wrong again!
This thread use to be a well respected place to find out anything about this case, however it is now known outside of thie thread as the DeadZone, very sad!
This appears to be a Browning 1917 machine gun, this gun has been used in WW1 & 2 also used in Korea,
Just got caught up...pretty fast 11 pages skipping knoss, blevins and jo...
to add...my dad was 503rd in WWII...he jumped with a Browning .30 cal machine gun...his buddy jumped with tripod and ammo.
He once told me a funny story about a road march they were on...
They all marched/ran with all their combat gear...my dad knowing he would have to carry his heavy weapon cut off a broom stick and put black shoe polish on it and replaced the barrel with it.
Towards the end of their march his sergeant felt bad about him having to carry his machine gun the whole way offered to carry it for him...my dad said no...but the Sargent insisted on it so my father handed it over.
As the sergeant grabbed it and expected a much heavier weapon almost threw the gun over his shoulder.
After some smart ass remark handed it back to my dad to carry the rest of the way.
attached is what I believe he jumped with...

You just keep inviting me to respond. Let's do a little bubble chart with what happened when and we can draw lines and everything to satisfy your need for an orderly presentation. You will see when your clasp enters the sequence and when the Medallion goes back to McCoy. You and Matt have the official script and that is the only tune you can play. Sorry, we know better. Amazing how much smarter you feel when you actually lived the experience rather than follow orders to whitewash it. I will not be your Huckleberry or your blow-up doll. Left turn, Clyde!
(it was "Right turn")
No scripts, just the facts, and they don't support your story. Time to move on. Truther's could use your tenacious "work ethic".

So, start being safe, first!!!

Of interest:
I tend to believe Karen McCoy's 1992 revelation that she was a heavy participant in the Utah hijacking, and the other things she said in her efforts to stop sales of the Calame book.
Why? Because she was taking a risk by admitting to a capital crime. There was no John Doe warrant in the Utah hijacking, such as was issued for the Cooper hijacking. So, it's possible the Feds would have found a way to charge her as an accomplice, although they never did.
An excerpt from the Utah article, with a link to the full story below:'Karen McCoy, the widow of slain hijacker Richard McCoy, revealed for the first time Thursday her extensive involvement in her husband's 1972 hijacking of United Airlines Flight 855.During a daylong hearing in 3rd District Court, McCoy acknowledged that she bought her husband's parachute, helped him prepare his disguise, typed the instructions he read to the airline pilots, drove him to the Salt Lake International Airport April 7, 1972, to begin the crime and knew he took a gun and grenade aboard the plane.
At 3 a.m. the next morning, Karen also drove with her husband to a field near Springville to pick up and hide the $500,000 McCoy extorted during the day-long hijacking that ended when he parachuted over Provo.
Under questioning from her own attorney, Karen blamed her involvement in part on the fact that she had been "severely physically and sexually abused" when she was younger...'
Link to full article is HERE.
Also of interest is the fact that although Karen McCoy admits to all these things, she also strongly denied that McCoy was D.B. Cooper. It doesn't make sense that she would say this unless it were true. She could have easily blamed that on her deceased husband, and possibly used that fact to bargain with the Feds. I tend to believe she was telling the truth on both accounts, i.e. that she helped with the Utah crime, but knew her husband wasn't Cooper.

Georger: I was simply giving my opinion on the Karen McCoy testimony. 'Read the thread'? Sure, I do this to a certain extent....but if you combine both threads this amounts to material that could give the Library of Congress a run for its money. It's thousands of pages and years of postings.
You keep doing this and I'm going to rerun the '25 Best Reasons' on Kenny Christiansen, with some new edits.

No worries. That was a joke. I wouldn't actually put you through that again.

All of this is supposedly regarding why Clara's Cooper ended up in WA when it was actually a story about when she first met her Cooper.
"He alos discovered that the promised pay rase was much smaller than he had been led to expect. Indeedk in one sense his wages had been reduced, for the basement room he was given to live in - consi;dered as part of his pay- was little more than a closet. It was dam, airless and without cheer."
Max goes on to state more of what Clara said:
" "He called it his cell," Clara says. "He'd like there at night and wonder what he was doing there." "
What Cooper was describing to Clara was a room in a hotel in Colorado where he worked as a Doorman and was provided a sleep room in the basement. Again a truth mixed in time and place. This was the same story Duane told me about the Hotel in Colorado - but, he did not give a time frame (I assumed 1962 after learning of his history). .
Max goes on to re-interate more of Clara's story/
"The act of planning a bizarre crime helped him come to terms with himself and his situation. He didn't have to commit the crime. Just thinking of it and working out the details was enough. He could llie in his cell, gaze at the ceiling, and think: well, I havent found my adventrue yet, and I'm still a mouse, but I could change all of that if I wanted to."
This is actually referencing a time Clara's Cooper was in jail and if Clara and Duane's old friend are one and the same - he was in Jefferson. Remember that Duane had to tell me about Jefferson in 1995 when he was arrested for trying to obtain a drivers license under the name of John Collins (something he actually accomplished in another county the day before they arrested him in 1995).
What he told me about Jefferson is very similar to what Clara relates, but changing it to WA and the time frame right before the skyjacking.
The shocking similarities I could not ignore.
Remember this - Duane told me things in 1978 and Max's book did NOT come out until 1985. I don't think Duane was aware of the book until 1995 when he contacted his old friend to let her know he was still alive, but had started the kidney machine. Telephone records do NOT lie. There were 2 calls to CA on the shop phone records in early 1990. The old friend of Duane's told me she thought Duane had died several yrs before the FBI and I found her 1996 or 1997.
Since Weber was very knowledgable about the sky and moon and the stars - I do believe that Clara - shared that with Max as he wrote about it on page 135. The full moon was how he set the date - he just didn't think about Thankgiving.
Clara and Max discuss Risks on page 136. I believe they actually had such a conversation, because Weber was a Risk Taker - why he often got caught for small things - like Kool-aide!
When Clara speaks of Cooper's pants fitting him somewhat baggily - I had to laugh. Duane had NO ASS AT ALL. That is why his pants may have appeared baggy in the rear.
The old friend of Duane's and myself laughed about how difficult it was to alter his pants so they would fit well.

What You Will Not Find On This Site
You will not find conspiracy theories on this website. If you want to read about how the FBI arranged for Cooper to do the skyjacking, and get away with the money as payment for assassinating John F. Kennedy, or how Cooper worked for the CIA and the skyjacking was a device to distract the public’s attention from the Viet Nam war, well, you’re going to have to go somewhere else. You won’t find that kind of stuff here.

Chapter 2: Basic facts of the skyjacking

Question - Bruce in Chpt 2 you say:
“It was like war,” Rataczak told me. ... A less confrontational approach was recommended by Soderlind and NWO operations in Minneapolis, and a compromise was offered: refuel in Reno, Nevada. Cooper agreed.
Was not aware Soderlind played this role? Have always read it was Nyrop told the crew and FBI to cooperate ...
Maybe you can shed light on this.
When it come to the part about the apple and candy bar and burying the money beside a stream except for 16K. Max made parts of that up. Duane was rambling in the hospital about putting 173 or 178 in a bucket and couldn't find the bucket. Therefore based only what Duane said in the hospital and what Clara was told - was just a leap of faith on the part of Max and myself. Since I know a little about Duane's lady of the day - I do not believe he would have told her exactly HOW much he kept or where he buried the rest of the money.
Choosing to stick with the stream rather than the light - makes sense also, unless he knew where he was. Duane told me about several streams during our trip, but I did NOT and was unable to try to find these streams without help from someone else (there was NO one I could trust as I had already found too much that contradicted all of the things JT had told me). Duane seemed to focus on a stream that ended up down Near Camp Bonneville -and he told me how it connected to other streams. Bear in mind that in 1979 Duane could not have read this book - it was not published until 1985. How could Duane Weber relate to me and show me things that would eventually be talked about in a book written 6 yrs later.
On some old maps I traced the creek Duane told me about and it did end up in an area where the stream divided and if you followed the light you ended up in the very area he took me to where he said - "That's were Cooper walked out of the woods".
It was a long walk I assure you, but the stream made sense with what Duane told me and what Clara was told and related to Max. Perhaps JT found the money and bought his gold mine with it. If JT is the explorer he wants everyone to believe - this is feasible. Does anyone know when JT got involved in the Cooper Chase?
All kidding aside - perhaps that is why JT was so insistent in calling me a liar and that NO such Places existed!
If someone has a time table on JT's involvement in this case - it might even add to the mystic of JT. Remember JT is very insistent that I am a liar - and everything I ever describe to him he insisted did NOT exist, but in 2001 - I found the Lake and the camp and the power lines and the pipelines. Then in 2010 I find the hill (Mt) JT claimed did NOT exist...he has never admitted in this thread that what told him about really did exist.
Some things - I had not taken into relation time and space - so they were spread out over a much larger area than I originally thought.
Note on page 154 - Clara and Cooper go looking for the hidden money. It was near where he had buried the chute, but it was gone.
Later they go back and actually find the money - but, the story was good for awhile just to pull JT's strings. Wait and see this will cause him to RAIL and call me a liar again. A girl does have to have some fun - once in awhile.
Then comes page 157. "The idea was that the hijacker knowing his death was imminent, had decided on an adventure that would either end the waiting or provide him with the means to live out his last days in luxury".
This was the intent of Cooper and he survived - so he had to live with it. Since he had involved someone else after the fact (someone who cared for him) - he made the decision to move forward with his life and to aid her in securing her dream since he seemed to bungle everything in his life - they had to go separate ways. Forget what is in the book about Clara for a moment and re-read this paragraph. This was a discussion with Max and what he knew about Clara and what I knew about the other woman.
The stories fit together like a pair of shoes. When Max was unable to get the FBI to look at this - he took 6 conversations and wrote his book. Clara did NOT want to incriminate herself and the parts about her being in WA - was Max just writing, but she was in the picture shortly after the crime and had knowledge of the money and did seek counsel as to if she could be prosecuted. She did NOT participate in the crime, but had knowledge of it at a later date and some of the money was spent on her. In 1982 - she thinks he is already dead and having become dependent on alcohol and by then struggling to make ends meet -she hoped she could sell his story, but when the FBI refused to co-operate she ceased ALL contact with Max.

Maybe you can shed light on this.
Maybe. In a previous interview, Rataczak alludes to being in contact with Soderlind on the ground, after the takeoff from Seattle:'I do know that our technical support people who were on the radio with us during the hijacking, especially Paul Soderlind (sic), tried to determine the exact area where Cooper might have jumped. We relied heavily on him for technical information during the flight. He was head of Technical Operations in our Flight Training Department. Paul and many others did a lot of work trying to determine the exact area in general (where Cooper jumped), and then tried to narrow down where the hijacker could have landed after he jumped from the airplane.
They finally determined the likely spot. Well, our crew on board was 99% sure they were correct because we felt a tremendous amount of pressure bump in our ears when the aft stairs rebounded when they closed...'
my question relates to the order to cooperate,
previously attributed to Nyrop, not Soderlind and
technical issues (where did he jump etc).
Maybe it was Soderlind who conveyed the order for Nyrop? Ive always been told it was Nyrop himself who talked to the crew?
Maybe Bruce knows something about this?
We wont know until HE answres.
NO WAY 1982 versus 1979 and the book was not published until 1985. How could Duane Weber relate a story in 1983 that had NEVER been published.
You will find it in this paragraph on page 159:
Concerns about the money being found in their living quarters - the removed a wall-mounted medicine cabinet in the bathroom and stuffed the bundle of bills into the space between two-by-four studs, and replaced the cabinet.
Duane had told me he and his special friend had hid something in this manner. He told me this story in 1982 or 1983. It was related to me on a overnight trip. The weird things and other circumstances of that trip were enough to raise one's eyebrows.
Remember I even suggested a rifle could have been hidden in this manner. He never told me what they hid.
georger 264
Yeah, it was most likely Nyrop who gave the order to cooperate. That decision would have been his. Maybe Soderlind re-interated it somewhere along the way, but you are right. It was (*probably*) first said by Nyrop.
Plus, he had to authorize the ransom payment too.
Bruce wrote his book.
The question is posed to HIM. Not you!
Bug out and mind your own business? Sheesh!
Are you kidding? You actually BELIEVE the Gunther book's version of events? Tell me you are joking. Tell me you are not grasping at straws.
I lend more credence, by far, to the Bobby Dayton version of Cooper than Max Gunther's unsupported novel.
IT'S A N-O-V-E-L.
That means someone made it up.
Who is 'Clara'? I mean her real ID. She is the only witness in the book and last time I heard she's anonymous.

The FBI didn't buy into Max and what he had and they scared Clara away. I told the FBI from DAY one who Clara was, but I cannot reveal it in this thread.
The FBI knows! But, as usual the FBI does NOT listen and their rookies scare the hell out of witnesses and never ask the right questions.
Blevins evidently you have been so absorbed in your own story that you never actually read or listened to the story about Duane and what I shared with the FBI. How many time does someone else have to go to the FBI before they GET it! The FBI never even gave your suspect anymore than a raised eyebrow.
Yes, Max had to write it as a NOVEL, but the calls were real and Clara was real and the letters and the notes are real.
They are actually part of the FBI file on Cooper. Yet, the FBI never attempted to put Clara and this woman together.
Since this is about a woman who has family still living - I am not allowed to say much more than what I have said. The family knew she was no angel, but she was a mother and a sister and a friend to many. Not the best of examples were set by her. Her own Daughter told me "I know Duane was Cooper".
This is what I have tried to tell you before and that there is MORE on Duane Weber than on your subject. Tonight I found the note regarding the money and then I had more in tax records and family and friends who believe Duane was Cooper - but I didn't put a "novel" together the way you did by taking their words and using them and making them look like fools to the media and their peers.
What I have done is try to prove Duane was Cooper without using all of this - things that rip lives apart. The family you dealt with may want and love the notoriety, but x's family doesn't want that. Some are professionals and some strong Christians and others who just got LOST in life and those who are deceased...most of them were alive in 1996 when I 1st contacted the FBI. AS I have said the FBI did NOT investigate Duane Weber and I didn't have a professional writer pulling a bunch of "stuff" together to do a NOVEL like you did.
KC was NOT Cooper.
You're doing it again. Trying to set yourself up as the Controller of What Must Be Posted, and To Whom.
Sorry, doesn't work that way. If you'd release your PM function here, you could ask him in a private message. Bruce also has email. If you have questions about his book, especially if they detail points of order, it is more polite to contact him privately about it...rather than trying to correct him in public.
On Max Gunther's book: IMHO it's a pile of hogwash.
And if you are going to criticize that assessment, I would like to hear your reasons why you support it, and why you believe it's a true rendition of the Cooper hijacking.
Good luck with that...
Blevin you have reached the point if someone DOES NOT agree with you that you become very VERY beligerant. How many time tonight did you raise you elbow?

Perhaps you need to stop drinking or go to bed or find yourself a new girl friend!
Phony Story? - You (BK) are the one who created the red/white chute - NOT Jo Weber. You have NO idea what obscure facts I do have."
Nor do I care. YOU told me red and white on the phone, I disagreed. That is what YOU said. Can't worm your way out of it. You think you have obscure facts? I think you have a lot of good information with an equal amount of mis-heard erroneous garbage that completely destroys what credibility you actually have. Throw away all that garbage you've been fed and stick to what you actually KNOW, like me. Your information is basically true, just cluttered with a bunch of "bait", "test information", non-essential history, guesstimates, assumptions, and worst of all, a failure to accept the information I offer as boldfaced truth, which it is. All of it. MAC-MAC-MAC.
