Snow, I think Jo needs to hit you up for a job. It might bail her out of her present troubles. And for practice this post might put me at the top of page 655. Timeing is everything.

Or Snowmman needs to hit Jo up for a job? They
drink from the same cup, so far as I can tell and
both belong in rehab.

Rehab?

Well, if thats where Snow is headed we'll have to airdrop drugs to him.

No problem. With our GPS steered mini robot chutes they will be literally delivered right to his door at night.

Getting women in willl be harder, but he might hit it off with some fellow residents. You never know.

I was thinking that if the planes are really that low over Jo's she should stand on the roof of her house with a shotgun. That will keep them away, or at least lead to an interesting discussion with police.

My understanding is that 500' minimum clearance is required to people, and 1000' minimum over congested areas?

What Jo needs is an air cannon. Take out any brush-by jets or helicopters.

hey did you see the security forces in Iran are using paintball guns against protesters? ? Man, if you get marked, they probably later will come around and arrest you and you're screwed.

I wonder if they're using Tom Kaye's gear?

Next we're going to have predator's marking you with paintballs.

Can you imagine if they start tagging high security targets with paintballs? OMG.

I didn't realize there is international paintball competition.
Iran even has teams that compete.

news at this site:
http://www.javidanpaintball.com/home.asp

"Thailand Paintball Championship (ITPC)

The first annual International Thailand Paintball Championship (ITPC) in Bangkok, Thailand, on the 25th to 27th of August. The tournament is the second leg of the Paintball Asia League Series (PALS) and promises to be and event to remember with over 50 teams from around the world competing towards the Royal Cup donated by her majesty the Princess of Thailand and points towards the 5 man World Cup in Malaysia. Datis Paintball Team will go to Thailand from Iran."

the best Iran team is called Datis

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Msr2raNZCus

from http://www.cctv.com/english/20070920/103030_2.shtml

"There are around thirty paint ball teams professionally active in Iran and tournaments are held every year.

Currently Iran 's greatest paint ball team is Datis, which has won all tournaments held in Iran since they began in 2005, as well as many championships held in Asia .

Datis paintball team won the 2006 Taiwan International Paint ball Championship, 2006 Thailand Paint ball Asia League Series, 2006 World Cup Asia in Malaysia and 2007 Thailand Paintb all Asia League Series.

Babak Esmaeili, a top player at team Datis, believes paint ball helped him forget about his age and problems of his daily life.

Reza Badrian, the captain of team Datis, says paint ball helps him learn to control his stresses and that's why he enjoys the game.

Iran has held annual paint ball tournaments since 2001 and each year the number of participating teams is rising.

This year, there were about 30 teams in the tournament and Datis was once again the winner of the championship.

Hamid Nickpour, Vice President of Iran's paintball association, which organises the annual tournament, believes paint ball has a bright future in Iran."

Interview with Mary Jean Fryar, former FBI agent and supervisor at Santa Rosa, CA Field Office, February 11, 2010. Phone.

FBI Investigation of Sheridan Peterson, “Petey.”

Initially wary of my phone call, Mary Jean quickly warmed up and wants to know more about what is going on in the Cooper case - and with Petey, as we both called him.

She remembered her investigation very clearly.

“It was one of the most enjoyable experiences I had as an FBI agent,” she said merrily.

Mary Jean received a “lead” from the Seattle FBI office to “locate” Sheridan Peterson and conduct an inquiry regarding Petey’s association to the Cooper case, such as his parachuting skills, and take a DNA swab. She believes the lead was generated by new DNA evidence coming forward, and it originated in Seattle, but she doesn’t remember the case agent who issued the lead. She also said that Petey fit the general metrics for DB Cooper, i.e.: age, jumper, etc.

Mary Jean, accompanied by SA Noelle Devereux, located Petey living in an eight-story high-rise facility for the elderly in Santa Rosa, California. Petey was in the assisted living section. His financial means were modest.

Mary Jean said that “If Petey was DB Cooper he sure wasn’t living high on the hog, now” or words to that effect. She also said that it was her understanding that Petey moved out of the facility shortly after her investigation. Mary Jean said further that Petey “had a child in the Bay Area, either a son or a daughter.”

She found Petey to very charming, and that he clearly delighted in having two female FBI agents investigate him for the Cooper case.

“He was a lonely guy,” said Mary Jean, “and he loved talking about the case. But he didn’t say that he was DB Cooper, or that he wasn’t.”

Mary Jean said that Petey didn’t get many visitors.

Mary Jean didn’t know about the 1971 investigation of Petey prior to the interview, but Petey volunteered the information.

Mary Jean was very impressed with Petey’s recall and the volume of documents he has on his life, such as his skydiving log.

Mary Jean said the interview was conducted in 2002 or 2003, she couldn’t recall exactly. “It was a long time ago.”

Mary Jean said that she sent the DNA swab to Quantico, and that she later “received a cover” informing her that the findings were negative.

Mary Jean retired from the Bureau in 2007 after 21 years of service.

[url]Nice job Bruce!

Bruce said "Mary Jean said further that Petey “had a child in the Bay Area, either a son or a daughter.”

Married twice. That may refer to daughter from 2nd marriage.

First time in Montana. Divorced after move to WA. (divorce in '62, married in '56 I believe)
believe 3 kids with first wife, (son at least, confirmed)

2nd wife was Filipina. She apparently died while visiting relatives in Phillipines in late '70s. They had two kids. boy/girl. Unclear what happened to boy. Girl still around.

Petey has a younger brother who's appears available. Bruce has probable locator.

Son from first marriage apparently available. Bruce has probable locator.

(edit) Bruce said "Mary Jean said the interview was conducted in 2002 or 2003, she couldn’t recall exactly. “It was a long time ago.”

If it was done when Petey was ~77, then 2002/2003 sounds about right for a date.

I wonder if the tip came from the ex-wife. I think there may have been a family law case between the two in 2003 in Bakersfield. Maybe support payments?

(edit) Bruce wrote "“and he loved talking about the case."

So how come Petey won't talk to you more Bruce?

I wonder if the DNA really is Cooper's?

Petey sure is a great fit for Norjack skill sets and knowledge.

If he ws ruled out soley on DNA the FBI must be pretty certain that they have Coopers DNA for comparison.

Great work Bruce, you really deliver the goods time after time.

Bruce, do you think Petey could be Cooper? Explain your reasoning.

My understanding is they talked to the ex-wife in 1971, and she didn't know where he was.

So how did Pete find out from the ex-wife that the FBI talked to her? He must have been in contact with the ex-wife at some point. Or maybe the kids? Or old friends?

How come there are no old friends of Pete that remember him jumping in WA in the early '60s (at Issaquah for example)

There is a confirmed jump log that has him jumping in Vietnam. So all his jump stories seem accurate.

He didn't mention the night jump record (for the time, maybe just pacific area?) he helped set (claimed) while at Clark Air Base in the mid '60s? (I'm assuming it was altitude? it couldn't have been just for night 5-way at that point in time? unless area specific)

(edit) Correction: claim "new record for Southeast Asia for the highest delayed freefall at night." 1965
with 4 other people. Maybe not a 5-way...maybe just night altitude. Although claim mentioned 4 others...so 5-way possible.

I spoke with Alden Peterson today for about 20 minutes. Initially he was guarded, but quickly opened up and was quite chatty by the end. His wife chimed in from the background, apparently listening on a speaker phone, and was quite animated.

Alden and his wife think Petey is a kook.

“I’d take a lot of what he says with a grain of salt,” Alden advised. “I wouldn’t take him too seriously.”

Alden said that he had distanced himself from his brother years ago, and hadn’t had any communication with him in years.

Alden said that he thought Petey was in Deer Park, WA, and that his California days were long past.

Alden didn’t know about any FBI investigations of Petey, and when I told Alden and his wife that Petey had been investigated twice they hooted loudly. Later, when I asked them if they thought Petey might have been CIA, or involved in some kind of covert ops, even in a half-assed way, they roared with laughter and derision.

“He’d like to think he was involved with the CIA, or that kind of stuff, “ Alden said, “ but I really don’t think so.”

When I specifically asked Alden if he thought his brother was a bullshit artist, he relied, “Yup.”

I followed up and asked why he was so distant from his brother, and he immediately launched into long-held feelings, even fears, of his brother: Petey shot Alden in the foot with a 12-guage shotgun when Laden was a little guy.

“I’ve been leery of him ever since,” Alden said, and repeated that phrase again, later in our conversation. He may even be afraid of his brother.

Alden also said that Petey had done something to his wife.

“He gave her a bad time.”

Alden said that Petey has 5 or 6 kids, “all over the place.”

Petey had two kids with a Philippino woman. The oldest is a boy, named Sheridan Jr, and the daughter is named Ginger.

Prior, Petey had a wife in Bakersfield with whom he raised five kids, three of his and two of hers from a prior relationship. Mark is the oldest of the kids, and Alden thinks he lives somewhere in Washington state, but doesn’t know where.

When I suggested that Mark might live in Boise, Idaho, Alden readily agreed.

“Yeah, that must be him.”

Alden described lots of dangerous, reckless behavior by Petey. Alden said that Petey put an axe into his foot as a smokejumper and “wasn’t any good to them after that.”

Alden said Petey got kicked out of Vietnam, but doesn’t know why, but said, “It must have been something bad – who got kicked out of Vietnam?”

Alden’s wife chimed in and said that Petey got kicked out of China, too.

Growing up, Petey was rarely home.

“He went off and joined the Marines in WWII, and I always felt he went off to all those others countries because he couldn’t get a job in the United States.”

Alden confirmed that Petey had a lot of teaching jobs, but agreed with me that Petey isn't a very good writer.

“Yeah, I always wondered about his writing jobs – maybe that’s why he had so many - he couldn’t hold on to any of them.”

But Alden confirmed that Petey was in fact a teacher at one point in his life – a grade school in Moses Lake, WA because Alden visited Petey in his classroom.

Petey is 8 and one-half years older than Alden. Alden is 76, making Petey 84.

As for Cooper, Alden said:

“I don’t think he had anything to do with it – although he might want you to think so. If he did, it would surprise me greatly.”

Alden said that his brother is probably a lonely guy looking for attention. Alden also knows about Petey’s epic quest to publish his book.

Bruce reported: “I’d take a lot of what he says with a grain of salt,” Alden advised. “I wouldn’t take him too seriously.”

Every single fact Petey has claimed, that I've been able to crosscheck, has been true. (example: I can put him in China, and at Tiananmen Square around the massacre as he claims. I have first hand witness, with published account by same. Very credible source, related to Voice of America, with no personal or other relation to Petey, but ran into Petey and reported it)

If Alden says anything is false, name it, and I'll verify.

I think Alden doesn't know what he doesn't know.

Does Alden know about Sheridan's claim to be playing with bat wings while jumping in the '60s. I found a description of what he was trying.

Has Alden read Petey's book? What does Alden think of it?

Is Alden impressed we can just reach out and find anyone? unless they're in South Africa, of course.

These are words that go together well,

tres bien ensemble.

I love you, I love you, I love you.
That's all I want to say.
Until I find a way
I will say the only words I know that
you'll understand.

Noelle, my belle.
Sont les mots qui vont tres bien ensemble,
tres bien ensemble.

I will say the only words I know
that you'll understand, my Noelle

In Petey's book, there's a copy of a bad job review he got at the end of his first vietnam stay.
(it's fictionalized autobiographical. It's a very weird book. It ends with a parachute jump)

When Alden says Petey got "kicked out" of vietnam ..it may be related to the last job he had there? Maybe he got fired/bad review/asked to leave? Don't know.

The job review thing is interesting, because it ties in to the ignored-middle-manager theory Carr had...i.e. that he knew what was needed but people ignored him.

"Alden said that he thought Petey was in Deer Park, WA, and that his California days were long past."

Alden. Your brother lives just 125 miles from you.
It is only a 2-1/2 hr drive.

You can go and visit. Who knows how many years he's got left.
Go see him before it's too late.

Just because Dad was a shithead, doesn't mean you have to be.

ex-wife: That would be Claire. They married in Montana. Not sure if she moved with Petey to WA in the early 60's. Maybe yes. The breakup may have happened in WA, not in MT.

She moved to Bakersfield later. I don't think Petey was part of that.
Mark lives in Boise, Idaho as far as I can tell. (at least the report was 6 years ago he did)

I gave you the likely phone number based on age. (because of the marriage/divorce time period, was able to guess the age, especially now that you report Mark was the oldest..I think I'm right on the phone number)

Did you ask about when Petey worked at the Bubbleator at the Seattle World's Fair? I know I'm crazy but I think that's key.

Bruce reported "But Alden confirmed that Petey was in fact a teacher at one point in his life – a grade school in Moses Lake, WA because Alden visited Petey in his classroom. "

There's a long history of teaching. started in Montana, then a couple places in WA, then at Clark Air Base like I said where I got the yearbook photo from. There was a second photo in that yearbook also. (edit) Note the yearbook is ironclad. confirms his Clark Air Base presence at the right time, which buttresses the Clark skydiving club jump claim (night jump). I did check the history of that club. Much of the stuff available is post 1970, but I believe the club did exist while Petey was there. (I forget if I got another confirmation on that in their history)

Like I say, everything Petey says, appears to be true.

I have him listed in another jumper's jump log at Saigon Sport Parachute Club in Vietnam, at the right year. His account of jumping helis there, and how they had to clear the DZ from the enemy before they jumped etc, squares with other accounts.

Journalism background like you Bruce.

His creative writing background in college came from a guy famous for classic "western" lit.

(edit) No one has found any of the other photos? I have an older one where he's balding and wearing a beard, but hair is black. Can't place the age, but its probably 1980's-1990's when compared to the '66 photo and a recent photo.

(edit) Oh: I named his height/weight based on info from his book.

Bruce: can you confirm eye color/height/weight (in 1971) with his brother. I've not been able to exactly confirm, but I suspect its a good match.

If you could ask the brother for the physical description in the '60s (when he visited him at school) that would be good.

Good be another green eyed Braden! I have mix of b/w and recent color photo so can't be exactly sure.

But the FBI must have thought he matched the physical description too...They took his DNA!

they apparently were interested in Petey in 1971 and seven years ago, yet Bruce is the first to talk to the brother? And yet Carr wants to give us shit about how the FBI did a serious investigation of 1000+ suspects?

The brother never reported a FBI visit. I would have thought he would have volunteered that to Bruce if it occured.

Fuck. It's up to me to go stop the terrorists from taking over planes. The FBI isn't going to be able to do it.

Just get me Noelle. I need a partner.

I think this could be a verbatim job review, or maybe from memory. This comes at the end of Petey's first time in Vietnam. You can see he wasn't military. Civilian. This wasn't his first job in Vietnam. He went to Vietnam and got a different civilian job. Eventually migrated into the job described here (time period is probably 1968. think he had another job from 68-70 before he left vietnam for 3 years)

There are some interesting key sentences, but I'll refrain from highlighting. It's just all curious.

VIET-NAM PERFORMANCE EVALUATION REPORT
Foreign Service Reserve Officers
Department of State
Agency for International Development

Mr. xxx xxxx is a most highly motivated Refugee Officer, exhibiting the utmost concern for these be leagued people. However, his patience with his counterpart is severely tried by what Mr. xxxx terms his counterpart’s apathy towards his job and thus little rapport exists. However, Mr. xxxx has excellent rapport with the Deputy for Administration in the Province and the Districts where he spent a good deal of his time endeavoring to make these individuals responsive to the needs of the people and displaced persons.

Mr. xxxx has worked tirelessly interviewing refugee families in every district and written more reports and maintained better files of his endeavors than any other US staff member. He affiliates himself with the Vietnamese and has a very close camaraderie with some of them. He has studied all refugee guidelines on policy and has distributed simplified versions to each district in an attempt to keep the districts abreast of policy.

Mr. xxxx’s extreme sympathy for the refugees and the under privileged people has on occasions caused him to lose perspective and understanding of the job’s objectives. He has wanted to take over his counterpart’s job in order to accomplish what needs to be done. He is unable to anticipate the delays that occur in his program, and as a result, does not start a program soon enough to accomplish his mission on time which in Vietnam is not an uncommon failing.

At social functions of mixed races, Mr. xxxx tends to spend the majority of his time with the Vietnamese engaging in parlor sticks that delight his audience, but sometimes alienate his American colleagues and the Province Chief in particular.

xxxx,
FSR-3 Dep. Province Senior Advisor

It's from the fictionalized autobiography. But as I say, the level of detail is weird in areas. I think Petey wanted to write a biography but claim it was something else, but it wasn't..the book doesn't hold together well as a result..too much probably personal detail, that doesn't apply to a story line well...but applies well to a story in Petey's brain.

At least that was my reaction as a reader.

(edit) oh note that the job description is the same job Petey had. and the story ends with the guy quitting that job and planning on going to nepal area, and ends with a parachute jump. Curious little details on the jump, like not having a weapon, etc. But that's just me probably with too much DBC on the brain.

Now, there's always the possibility that it was written to sound DBC-like.

But I think Petey really did go to that area, because his two kids were born there. So did he write the book in the '70s? or did he write it after he found out the FBI was interested in him? or what? Or do I have an active imagination, and it's just a bad book?

It's all weird.

(edit) I went so far as to check out the names of the hospitals that Petey said his kids were born at. He got the spelling of one slightly wrong if I remember right..but the hospitals existed as he described.

When he was young, Petey got sent off to what was reads to me to be like a reform school kind of place. (in practice at least..he did get sent off though and it left bad memories).

I wonder if that could have been related to blasting little bro, accidently or not?

Mary Jean said the interview was conducted in 2002 or 2003, she couldn’t recall exactly. “It was a long time ago.”

Bruce she must have her dates mixed up - because they did NO testing of any DNA until 2007.
They picked up Duane's DNA in March 27, 2003. Then the idiots accidentaly left what the agent called an invoice in the box when it was returned to me in 2007. Five yrs later. What was in the invoice they didn't want me to see was the fact that they did NOT run the first tests on the items until 11/07/06 and the last one 1/08/07. With the tests spread out like that - something must have come up in one of the earlier tests.

NO DNA was tested until 2007 on any subject. They may have retrieved DNA from Petey in 2003 - but it would not have been tested until 2007. WHY? Because they had not yet extracted any DNA from any object - then of course they didn't know if they had Cooper's DNA. I was told in October of 2007 just before Carr went public that there were multiple particial DNA's found on the tie. A tie they cannot even prove belonged to Cooper. The BS goes on National TV and tells them I had known this since early 2007 - he knew that was a F------ lie. He told me on his way to do the interview with the media in late 2008.

I caught him in that lie and never ever believed another word coming out of his mouth.

How do you know that Jo?

I can't imagine any way you would know.

Why do you think you know?

(edit) Jo said "the last one 1/08/08"

that's odd. That's after Larry Carr started posting to DZ.com

(edit) Jo said ". Then the idiots accidentaly left what the agent called an invoice in the box when it was returned to me in 2007. Five yrs later. How could they return the box in 2007 and have it say 1/08/2008 on something?

You are either misremembering or lying. How can you accuse someone else of being wrong, when you're apparently wrong?

Can you explain? did you mean 2007?
Your claim "With the tests spread out like that - something must have come up in one of the earlier tests." is just dumb when you correct the dates. You have no experience with FBI DNA testing. Why do you think you do?
