howardwhite 6 #1 September 18, 2006 I am slowly recovering from a remarkable reunion at Orange, MA, this weekend -- people who built, jumped at, and supported the parachute centers at Orange and Lakewood, NJ from 1959--1984. Among those attending were: --Four who hold D <100 : Jacques-Andre Istel (D-2), Bill Jolly (D-26), Lee Guilfoyle (D-50) and Nate Pond (D-69, but could have been one of the first three.) --Several people who won national and world championships in the early sixties. A couple of the people made tandems at Jumptown -- their "first" jump certificates were amended to indicate their actual number of prior jumps. I gathered in somewhat more than 1,000 (!!) pictures over the weekend -- scans from old photo albums as well as dumps from several digital still cameras taken during the event. When I make some sense of them I'll put them on a web site, probably initially passworded until I get corrections on names and faces, etc. Later, I'll do a more general site. If you jumped at Orange or Lakewood (or even Elsinore or Hemet or Crawfordsville) in the PI days and are interested in seeing the initial efforts, pm me and I'll let you know when the pix site is up and running.
