rapter 0 #1 May 29, 2006 This has been a bad Memorial weekend. I remember reading in Howard Gregory's book "Parachuting's Unforgettable Jumps III". There is a story from Lyle Cameron about the first fatalitie he saw, a girl at Elsinore go in with a no pull on Memorial weekend. And the book says " and Lyle Mourned, "And since then, we have had a girl die every Memorial Day weekend and every 4th. of July weekend, every year since 1959." ( Somewhere in the U.S.)". Only the good die young, so I have found immortality,
scottmyers 0 #2 May 29, 2006 I agree. This seems, to me, another cycle of unneeded tragedy in this sport. As to how the FAA handles the unforseen deaths that have happened is yet to be seen. *frowning as I walk out of the chat room*Gig em, Garland Owls! cosmobuddy 0 #3 May 29, 2006 Joan Carson The loss of our girl was on Memorial Weekend, May 24, 1981. 25 years ago. Malfunctioning reserve after a normal cutaway from a main pilot chute problem. We all still remember the sadness of the day. FLY HIGH, Beagle Boogie Babe!www.SkydiveLostPrairie.com
