steve1 5 #1 August 21, 2005 I was wondering if anyone knows his story. One old jumper told me he came from Idaho and jumped near Boise in the 70's. Another told me he once owned the D.Z. at Coolage before selling it to the Air Force and then starting Skydive Arizona. He was jumping with some other old Idahoians at Lost Prairie this year. You can't help but marvel at his success....Steve1
sundevil777 102 #2 August 22, 2005 Before Coolidge, there was Wild Horse West, north of Phoenix near Lake Pleasant. Dirt strip, a couple of small trailers and an awning covering the packing carpet.People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am

I have the distinction of being on the load dropped fathest from Wild Horse than any other. Sunset load, we were all tired and the guy spotting mistook a canal pump station for the dz. He screams...LETS GO ! Like a bunch of dumbasses we blindly follow him out of Larrys twin beech. Needless to say it was dark-30 when we all hitchiked back. bozo bozo Pain is fleeting. Hey that wouldn't have been Perry Armstrong would it? LOL!!! (just a joke son) Perris was one for that... He would look back while spotting and ask if everyone was ready and the all you saw was the bottom of his tennis shoes... I guess it's time to go.... Next question.... Anybody know where we are?Green Light "Harry, why did you land all the way out there? Nobody else landed out there." "Your statement answered your question." rehmwa 2 #5 August 23, 2005 Quote D.Z. at Coolage before selling it to the Air Force and then starting Skydive Arizona. The DZ at Coolidge was still called Skydive Arizona at the time. Airspeed was the Coolidge Force (Fource?) - Young Shawn was a teenager and a pretty good relative worker. I think Bryan B was there doing odd jobs. I did twenty way there with a real nice crowd organized by Bob Walker. Got bit by a rattlesnake while there (a bunch of the staff came into Phoenix to visit while I was in intensive care - pretty nice. I wish I still had that card). I remember one of the 'fource' - Jim-something taking new jumpers like me and showing us 4-way 'secret stuff' - a lot of the coaching advice has changed dramatically since then. They were really into helping out the new people to get better. Larry and Lil were super great DZOs and nice people. It moved to Eloy in '91 (or was it late '90?) ... Driving is a one dimensional activity - a monkey can do it - being proud of your driving abilities is like being proud of being able to put on pants

Jim Hotze Jim Hotze was a good guy . I havent seen him in quite some time though. There was another guy from Coolige I remember. His name was Doug Iverson.....he had a terribly broken leg when I first met him. He lived in the room at the west end of the old wreck hall. He liked to call himself Iverdeath. He was a character. bozo bozo Pain is fleeting. Glory lasts forever. Chicks dig scars.
