LiborJanicek 0 #1 July 11, 2012 Last week in August I'll be out in Tampa, FL for work. Have Friday, Aug. 31 free to jump, flight leaves back home @ 6pm. Where would be the best/closest dropzone? thx

TriGirl 343 #4 July 14, 2012 Someone actually had to ask this question? Oh, and besides Tony Suit being about 500m from manifest, a quick trip into town (Zephyrhills) will get you to the facility where Wings containers are made, too! doubleplay 0 #5 July 14, 2012 Weather in Florida is a crap shoot in August. I hope you can jump. Good Luck.
normiss 893 #6 July 16, 2012 Incorrect. We do get the typical 20 minute rain showers in the afternoon in August....show up early, enjoy the break when the rain rolls trough....return to jumping after.
LiborJanicek 0 #7 July 16, 2012 Nice one, I'll be in Tampa a week long filming at the RNC. Friday is my only free day to jump. Hopefully I can get off early or have a late call time and squeeze more jumps in. I'll def be there early on Friday.

Assuming you'll get to the terminal around 5...the traffic at the I-4 / I-275 interchange can be totally balls around rush-hour. Might not be too bad as Labor Day is the next Monday but... I lived in Florida for 8 years and got my private pilot license there. As I said before, you can't predict the summer time weather in Florida.Unfortunately it's the worst tome of the year and a crap shoot.
normiss 893 #11 July 16, 2012 OK, cool! I love this perspective...all the parks empty when the afternoon showers roll through, most visiting jumpers leave....makes for a nice clearing of crowds!

I said it before and I'll say it again weather in Florida during summer is a crap shoot and miserable.
LiborJanicek 0 #13 September 4, 2012 After 4 days of filming at the 2012 RNC I headed out to Z-Hills for a couple of jumps. Had a great time ever if it was hot as F@$%*. Here's a video of one of my jumps http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H9hOmLap3cg&feature=plcp
