vandam 0 #2 September 8, 2011 Sunshine, tapas & altitude !! Come freefly with Jasper & Martijn from ToraTora.nl. In 2011, ToraTora will be traveling to Seville - in the south of Spain - from October 23 to October 29. Seville is a warm and sunny place, where they fly their ultra fast Dorniers up to 15.000 ft! The pool offers refreshment in the afternoon, right before we go out to eat some tapas (the Spanish are well known for their food). The goal of the camp is to fly together in small groups of similar level (maximum 2 groups of 6 participants). These groups will have each their own coach (Martijn and Jasper) and will be intensively guided in the air and on the ground. Our ambition is for all flyers to be able to work on their personal goals and to push their own limits, while working on team-flying skills at the same time. For more info & registration, email to info@toratora.nl 23 till 29 October 2011 SKYDIVE SPAIN
JohnRich 4 #3 September 8, 2011 QuoteCome fly with ToraTora in Spain ! Why are you using the Japanese code words used to indicate a successful attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941, to promote a skydiving event held in Spain?

I looked at their web site, but there wasn't any explanation readily available that I could find. But those anime cartoon chicks are really hot. "Tora" means "Tiger" in Japanese, and made a good code word for Pearl Harbor because "To" means "attack", and "ra" means torpedo", or something like that. (I spent 13 months in Japan once.) So the combination of syllables fit the mode of the attack. The repetition is irrelevant to the meaning, whether there is one, two or three. I suppose it was said three times just out of excitement, and to make sure that the message was received.
