Chief 0 #1 July 18, 2002 Recently I was doing a sit fly, going rather well too - then I heard a flapping noise and found the pilot chute out with the bridle around my arm. Obviously, all turned out okay. I am having the p/c pocket re-sewn (tighter & closer to the body). Any other suggestions? This is a Javelin container. freeflir29 0 #2 July 18, 2002 QuoteAny other suggestions? Keep your gear in good condition and leave as little bridal exposed as possible. I have a 95 Dolphin and I get a lot of looks when people see it and my Free Fly suit together. In almost 200 Free Fly jumps I have never had a premature deployment. *Knock on wood* Just take care of your equipment and make sure you pack it well and you shouldn't have any problems. PhreeZone 20 #6 July 20, 2002 Deanna Kent did her freestyle routne for years on a Vector2 with an ROL and I've never heard that she ever had issues with it. The rig finally got converted to BOC about 2 years ago by its new owner. It just has to be maintianed a lot more then a BOC system.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

Would I suggest someone else do this. Hell No. Can you fix almost anything with a Leatherman tool and Duct tape.......You get the point by now I'm sure....... Ask the rigger to check the pullforce of the pilot chute. min 2.27Kg(3lb) max5.45Kg(12lb) Ones you go out of the "normal" box position. The risk of a inadvertent opening is higher. All is well now.
 Join the conversation You can post now and register later. If you have an account, sign in now to post with your account.
