Skydive Hollister B-17 and B-24 jumps May 19-20

Recommended Posts

Read about it in Blue Skies magazine. I think I just might have to do it, although it is quite expensive. $425 bucks for a jump, but that is certainly a once in a lifetime jump!! Diving out the bomb bay doors of an airplane with that much history has got to be quite an adventure.

Anyways, thought some of you might be interested. Speed star anybody???

The 8-24 is jumpable again? At one point it wasn't classified right for jumping.

If you get a chance to jump either, do it. It's a helluva expensive hop 'n pop but an awesome ride and exiting through the bomb bay doors is indescribable. :)

The DZ isn't really organizing it, as far as I know. The airport that the DZ is at will be having the 2 planes there and offering rides, and they agreed to take jumpers.

A few weeks ago a B17 flew over me while I was driving on the freeway, and I know they are out at Moffet field (military base) offering rides sometimes. I think they must be local to the area.

I'm getting really excited!!

Who's organizing this? I've been trying to figure out what would be required to get these amazing planes out to my DZ.

Here's the schedule. First step would probably be to reach out to these folks and see if they're willing to let you organize.

Ok, so I talked to the guys and they said that the load costs $4500, and they can take up to 10 people. So it is $450, not $425. They didn't say that they had talked to the drop zone, so as of this moment nothing is really organized. I am about to call the DZ and get a list started. The reason why it is an extra $25 is because they usually only fly to 1500ft, and for jumpers they get up to 3k-4k.
So there you have it. I'll have the DZ start the list, call them and get your name on it asap!!

P.S. The ride to altitude is about 30 minutes, so you will still get a good ride out of it! Man I am excited.

Also, they will fly as many loads as we want, so don't worry if the list fills up, we can start another one.

Update: I guess the DZ does have a list but they haven't really confirmed it with the Collin's guys. As of right now we have about 6 people, and I know one of my friend's said they would be in for sure, so hurry up and get on the list! This Sunday the DZ will call people and be asking for a deposit.

Get in on this while you can!
