npgraphicdesign 3 #1 July 29, 2010 I'm in the midst of a serious decision Will be in Florida from the 12th at night until the 19th morning. I would love to visit all three dropzones within that week, but by that time I will have driven over 1200 miles (driving from CT and making a few stops along the way.) My initial approach will be from Atlanta to whichever DZ is closest, stay there for 2 days, then drive the next DZ, stay there for 2 or 3 days, then drive to the last DZ, stay there for 2 days, then drive back to NC, where I'll be spending another day. So, does it make sense to try to visit all 3 DZs? Or should I pick 2 of the 3 and spend more time jumping & less driving? And if I were to pick 2 DZs, which ones would make sense more? Keep in mind the span of time I have for all the skydiving/driving/etc is Friday the 13th to Thursday the 19th.
skymama 37 #2 July 30, 2010 Deland flies every day, but I think Zhills is closed a couple days of the week in the summer (Tues. and Wed. maybe?). I'm not sure about Sebastian, but you better check. This is the slow season for FL dz's. I like them all, so just pick some and go!She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon

skymama 37 #4 July 30, 2010 If I'm there, of course! Deland has the Kittinger Boogie on Aug.13-15. It might be worth stopping by and meeting The Man. There will be some bigway jumps going on and stuff from the Skydiving Museum will be there. Should be fun!She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
jimmytavino 16 #5 July 30, 2010 definitely all three...... if you're out of ATL, simply run 75 South to Z hills,,, easy drive.. then go to Sebastian, ( can be done in the time it can take a 'weather hold' to clear... ) then head north on 95 and find your way to DeLand... simple and easy.. 1200 miles of driving, isn't THAT much,, when you're bound for a dropzone.....Do most of the driving at night, when it's cooler, and maybe less traffic... and so that you can change locations at a time when you're NOT missing any jumping hours...P S. there are many other DZ's besides these 3. Parachutist lists 12 of them,,, PLUS the Tunnel.. ( bring a copy of that Mag. with you... very helpful for phone numbers and locations...) have FUN... jmy

I know a tunnel is worth it, but I can do that up here in New Hampshire. I'm driving down to Florida to jump!! And jimmy, I'll be driving to the 1st DZ on my list out of Atlanta. Spending a day or two there and going to sneak a few jumps in at The Farm. Then heading down to the Florida DZs. I think 3 DZs in one trip is more then enough...or is it? Going to Skydive Orange in VA, Farm in Atlanta, Raeford in NC and 2-3 in FLA. Damn...I may be tired after my 'vacation'
